This is a petition to abolish unecessary police towing. The reason for this petition is cause the police can now tow your car for no insurance. The police can have your car tow in these cases as well as dui,dwi and drug related or in a traffic accident. But they can't call you a tow if you're stranded with car problems and in need of a tow. They can't help unless it's in involed in a traffic or criminal offense.Qnce a woman with 4 kids.Twins 3 yr old and a two 5,7 was pulled over for no proof of insurance. therefore her car was towed. With no contacts to pick her and kids up.She was stranded to walk 3 miles home with them and had to cross a busy traffic. This is very imorally wrong.besides the fines which came up to 200.00 also had to pay storage fees that range up to a extra $300.00.What happen when you're unable to get the money to get your car out of recovery? It sits there accumulating fees which I call " Legalized entrapment" In these hard economic and finacial times is this line of police department source of creating police revenue really fair? How this benefit the citizens if it's not a hazzard to motorist ? Why can't they just write you a ticket like they use too? And of course they getting a nice size donation from the insurance company and a steady contract bussiness to the towing company. Why should you pay for a tow you didnt authorized and pay fees with money you really don't have to give? This is unfair.I rather have my own car towed or left there until i can have it removed as long it don't obstruct traffic in anyway.I understand they need to find ways to bring in law related revenue but some of the methods are truly unfair. Park cars don't cause accidents.People in moving cars do. So please endorse this petition your support is appreciated.
