No Cell Tower At Camp Herms Above Arlington Park

Whereas the children and families of El Cerrito, Richmond and beyond use the Arlington Park heavily, including community groups, schools and city programs for day camps, picnic rentals, school field trips, tennis, and classes and events at the youth hut, and

Whereas there is a daycare with small children in the neighborhood next to the Camp Herms site and onsite residents less than 120 feet from the proposed Tower site, and

Whereas we are concerned about studies on Cell Phone Towers and health and safety hazards, especially next to Arlington Park and our Community with young children and toddlers, and

Whereas we are concerned about impacts to Property Values, and

Whereas this 77 foot (6+ story) tree Cell Tower will be visible to the community from Arlington Park and not aesthetically look good in this natural setting, and T-Mobile has not agreed to prevent tree cutting especially as they expand this industrial tower to 36 antenna coming closer to the ground,, and

Whereas T-Mobile already has a site at Moeser and Arlington to cover the service they claim is missing in their city plans, and the City of El Cerrito does not have ordinances to test emissions from the Cell Tower,

We, the undersigned, do not support the proposal for a T-Mobile Cell Phone Tower at the Camp Herms Boy Scout Camp above Arlington Park in El Cerrito.

We would like to ask the City of El Cerrito for a moratorium on Cell Phone Towers and Antenna until the ordinances are reviewed for emissions testing, distance from children and comparisons of Albany and Point Richmond policies to improve El Cerrito's. : Paul Hess

4 years ago Comments: My son goes to Cub Scout Camp at Camp Herms and my children play at Arlington Park. I would like this to continue. It won't, however, if a cell tower is constructed at Camp Herms. I believe the studies that show that cell towers are "dangerous to human health." This site is a terrible choice! NO CELL TOWER AT CAMP HERMS!!!

4 years ago Comments: I fully support your opposition to building of a cell phone tower. We are having the same problem in Orangecrest area of Riverside, Calif. Spectrum Engineering has a proposal pending before the City of Riverside Planning Dept. with an ending date for Comment/Opposition Forms of May 28, 2010. This is on a church-owned 6-acre property in a residential (above my home!!!) in Riverside, Calif.
