No to Tesco in Great Shelford

Tesco has bought the Eaden Lilley Shop in Great Shelford. This is likely to put Barkers the Butchers, Days of Ashwell (the bakers) and the fruit and vegetable shop under threat and change the character of the village for ever. Show Tesco how unwelcome they would be by signing this petition.

4 years ago Comments: It is not just the three shops mentioned that are threatened. The Co-op and also excellent stores in Hinton Way and Stapleford would suffer if Tesco opened an unneeded and unwanted further food shop in Shelford.

4 years ago Comments: We have a thriving and interesting village street with lots of different local businesses. We do not want a single large operator overriding all this variety. Tesco say that their new shop will not cause traffic problems as people will tend to walk and cycle. We do walk and cycle but lots of people already drive. has anyone from tesco actually been in Woolards lane on a Saturday morning? Tesco will just make it worse
