Name: Beryl & Ray Broom on Nov 11, 2006Comments: The pollution level at Tolworth around the A3 has already exceeded EU levels. According to Tescos application their development will incur a further 6.340 vehicles every working day. ie 7 days a week which will put the levels even higherFlag

Name: Ms D Clancy on Nov 11, 2006Comments: I am appaled that any such building can even be considerded. The Tolworth roundabout it is over conjested now with out more visitors to the area. Even at the weekends it is too busy to contemplate more cars using it, the roundabout up until about 3 years ago used to only have the traffic lights working during the peak times now the trafic lights are on all day and night, i have noticed a change in the amount of trafic now using the roundabout and was deeply worried when i heard of the new tesco plans.Flag

Name: Jon Fray on Nov 14, 2006Comments: Residents need to write with their comments (objections) to the Council. Tescos plan is much too dense. They are arrogant in planning a store where they are told one is not suitable, and claiming that the existing shops are not sufficient.Flag

Name: Anonymous on Nov 22, 2006Comments: NO TESCO - We are overrun with superstores, we dont want one which will without doubt reduce greatly the quality of life of local residents. Tolworth is primarily a village community environment, we want it returned to a village environment with small personal retailers where people will come fro personal service and specific goods. the need is for leisure pursuits for all ages and a more scenic balance to the concrete Tolworth tower.Flag

Name: Anonymous on Nov 23, 2006Comments: The effect on the local shops will be devasting. Tesco has a history of bullying councils into approving their plans by launching appeals which are expensive for the council to defend.Flag

Name: Valerie Newman on Nov 24, 2006Comments: I am totally opposed to the Tesco development, the trafffic report attached to the planning application is seriously flawed and the local infrastructure will be unable to cope. Furthermore why should we be inflicted with high rise developments, hardly the governments 'green image' or with English Heritage's recently launched policy of preserving the suburbsFlag

Name: Anonymous on Nov 24, 2006Comments: As a local resident living very close to the site, I object to this massive planning application on the grounds of increased levels of traffic, high levels of pollution, the damage to the local businesses and the chaos that an influx of over 600 new residents will cause to the local infrastructure. Furthermore, these buildings are completely unsuited to the area and the long term building works will make Tolworth an awful place to live.Flag

Name: John Scrivens on Dec 2, 2006Comments: Despite what Tesco's "experts" say, the extra 9000 (estimated) daily traffic movements will cause gridlock. Widening the roundabout and so called 'improvements' to surrounding roads will not prevent this.Flag

Name: Anonymous on Feb 19, 2007Comments: i disagree with Tesco and new housing of over 600 flats/houses. Are TESCO going to build new schools because 1.32 in every class in the few schools in Tolworth is a joke. The polution on the A3 is very bad now. what is another 10,000 movements of cars do a day to Tolworth. TESCO FOR ONCE DO NOT THINK OF YOUR POCKETS FOR ONCEFlag

Name: Jean Hellingsworth on Feb 26, 2007Comments: Tesco at Tolworth is not needed, we have one just down the road. Traffic in that area is already bad. Local traders will be squeezed out. Tolworth Broadway will die. Farmers are being squeezed so hard by these giants that some are going to the wall. We all want low prices but I think that we are begining to realise that there is a huge cost to pay. I have vowed personaly to never shop in TescosFlag

There is nothin along The Broadway , all we have seen in recent years is an influx of Pubs, Betting Shops & Fast Food Places. If you can put up with these eyesores to the Broadway , surely Tescos is a better deal.Flag

Name: Margaret Antwi on Nov 22, 2008Comments: It will cause unecessary traffic, as well as damage business of the newsagents on the broadway. Kingston is short of schools, why not put the site for good use New Malden Tesco is only 10 minutes away by transport, this is totally a waste of money.Flag
