We the undersigned object to Leo Laporte\'s campaign to rename podcasts to netcasts. By launching this action without properly understanding the case of \"Podcast Ready\" and its \"MyPodder\" software, Leo Laporte has managed to fragment the podcasting community.
By introducing another term into the fray, the market will become confused, with multiple terms to explain the same medium. Podcasting has become well established across the world, with organisations such as The BBC, ABC, NPR, XFM, BSkyB, Fox News, MTV & RTL using the term podcast to describe their RSS distributed audio. For another term to come into the market will only confuse the situation.
So, this petition asks Leo Laporte to back down from using the name netcasts and return to podcasts.
