Name: Claire Vaughan on Aug 12, 2010Comments: I sent a letter to the council, only to have my letter not actually read due to "as you do not live in the vicinity of the premises I am afraid that your representations are invalid and cannot be taken into account". This comment was despite having shown how I believe it went against all four articles of the licensing authority (causing crime, disorder and public nuisance, or harming children). Very disappointed. Hopefully this petition will help.Flag

Name: Robert Holbach on Aug 12, 2010Comments: In addition to the peitition text (with which I agree wholeheartedly), I find of additional concern that the location is currently one of the few family friendly spaces in Cardiff, being between the Cineworld cinema and the family oriented restaurants in St David's 2. To add crowds of stag dos and groups of inebriated, sexually charged men to that area strikes me as a risk. It would cause significant nuisance and reduce the appeal of Cardiff as a destination for family outings.Flag

Name: Barbara Gilchrist on Aug 12, 2010Comments: All those people who rightly comdemn cultural practices that demean women should reflect on how our culture continues to demean women. I feel that Cardiff has established itself as a forward thinking dynamic city and such a establishment would undermine this statusFlag

Name: Angharad Gwilym on Aug 12, 2010Comments: In my opinion, a Hooters establishment in the city will lower the standards of Cardiff's nightlife scene even further. There are a few undesirable bars as it stands, to allow another opening of a bar which objectifies women as sexual objects would be beyond me.Flag

Name: Sian Norris on Aug 12, 2010Comments: Women have the right to not be treated as objects. they should not have to work somewhere that encourages sexual harassment. Hooters has no respect for gender equality. the rules they require their waitresses to follow are sexist and reduce the women to objects. we do not want hooters in the UK. full stop. it has already be prevented in Sheffield. Don't let them win here.Flag
