Dear Mr Bratt As a lifelong fan of Port Vale Football Club I'd like to draw the attention of the board of directors to the almost universal feeling amongst supporters than Dean Glover or any other internal appointment is not the way forward at this present time. Very few Port Vale supporters if any will have anything against Dean Glover personally as he was a tremendous player and has been a very good servant to the club. However we have just parted company with one club legend so why appoint another who was part of the last managers backroom team and has hardly impressed during his spell as caretaker manager. The club is already struggling at the wrong end of the League One table with floundering attendances and to appoint somebody who is a very unpopular choice with the paying customers would only drive the club further towards relegation and possibly worse! The club is blatently in need of some fresh optimism to attract more supporters to matches and appointing someone after such a poor caretakers record is not going to do this. It is also concerning to note that Dean Glover was also in the 'top two' for the job and with such a poor record it begs the question as to why some directors still want him appointing to role of manager when the teams position hasn't improved It has been stated by the club that an appointment will definately be made in the week commencing the 28th October and I don't believe it should be Glover.
