I never thought so many people would actually listen to this story because it feels like shouting into a void sometimes. The momentum is honestly overwhelming and it proves that people finally want to talk about the reality of what happens when we follow those rigid rules without question.

THIS. Finally someone is saying it. My kids would have never slept if I put them on their backs. It makes no sense.
Sorry for your loss. My wife and I both felt the same way. It just feels wrong when you see them struggling on their backs.
Common sense has left the building. Side sleeping is much better. Glad you are speaking up.
I lost my nephew to this exact thing. It breaks my heart. We need to stop forcing these rules on parents who know their own kids best.
LISTEN TO THE MOMS. Pediatricians dont see the baby 24/7 like we do. My baby always slept on her side.

My son hated the back. He choked every single time so I started putting him on his side. He slept so much better and was safe. People need to stop acting like one size fits all.
