We, the undersigned, petition the Government to reverse the proposed 50 per cent tax band.
We believe that the income tax changes announced in the Chancellor's April 2009 budget speech will do nothing to improve the public finances and threaten Britain's long-term economic prosperity. Moreover, we believe that it is morally wrong for the government to take a greater share of income than the individual that earned it.
