Dear Friends Like Approx 7 month ago I was Driving in Kendall Miami-Dade. My son, and I found a Pit Bull in the outskirts of the woods. at first we were afraid because of everything we had heard about Pit Bull but This Pit was injured she had a open flesh wound in her tummy that looked like a bear had taken a big bite out of her. Her nails we so long, who knows how long she had been there, eating God knows what to survive. All I had in my SUV was a cookie, and a bottle of water. My son called out to her as he bended to give her the cookie "come on girl it okay!" I was so afraid that she might bite him because of all the stories, but she didn't. I think she was more scared of us then we were of her. We called the Police, we called channel 7 news, and the Animal planet to see If they could help her but know one was able to help me" I think it was because people get scared when they hear Pit Bull". It was a Sunday so it was really hard to get in contact with Animal Control so The Police, and we waited getting bit by mosquito's. Then we asked the officer if we can take her home, and wait for Animal control to come. He said "that was fine" So we took her home. It was very difficult because of her wound. My son carried her into the truck, and the smell was horrible, since she hadn't taken a bath who knows how long. When Animal control came, that told us that because of her condition, that they would have to put her to sleep, that they wouldn't be able to save her. First because Pit were Ban in Miami- Dade, and second the wound was very bad . We were devastated by the news, and also that In Dade county you couldn't have Pit bull. So we didn't want to see her put to sleep, we wanted her to have a fighting chance to survive. So we decided to take her to a Vet to see what they could do. The next morning we took her to a Vet they said it was a tumor, and they had to do surgery right away but they didn't know if she would survive. The Vet said it would be like $1000 + ,and I didn't Have the money. I kept trying, and trying, and taking her for a 2nd, a 3rd opinion but everything came back negative. So I went to Broward County Animal Control since you can have Pit Bull to see if they could help her and not euthanize her but they said that for her condition they would. They gave me a phone of a Vet called DPC in Broward I think they were really Life Saviors why! because they gave me the key to helping save My Dog, and it was called Imom.org What an organization the people their in the community were like angel. I didn't know that people could care so much until then everyone all across the Us donated $1,995 in practically 24 hr incredible. Between the DPC Vet, and Imom.org we were able to do My Dog her surgery. I named my Dog Mila for Milagro in English it means Miracle. Well the Vet only gave Mila 3 mo to live because unfortunately the tumor was cancerous She Had a Mammary Tumor. We could've put her to sleep, and say this is not my responsibility this is not my Dog, but why would we do all of this for a dog that wasn't ours, that only had 3 mo to live. Well the answer was if you were in the wilderness by yourself hurt,in pain, hungry,thirsty,lonely, without know one . would you want to die like that or would you want someone to rescue you at least for that moment in time. Because friends we're here today but we don't know when we're going but what we do know is, that we have to live today, and everyday to our fullest, and thank God for the day we have reached. I wanted to give that to my Pit Mila, days of eating,drinking,playing,days of happiness being with someone who loved her and her to feel loved back. Well We went through a lot with Mila in the beginning with her surgery giving her morphine patch, and pain med caring her, feeding her. but it paid off. I ask god to save her we all prayed for her. Mila was such a good dog I had moved to Kissimmee, Fl, and I had a big house with 3 little Shi Zu Mila never bit them, she actually played with them like if she was her mother. We had family come over Mila never growled at them, she actually would jump in the bed and lay next to them. Never once did this Pit that was found in the wilderness did any harm to us. Actually it brought us closer together, it brought me to realize that we cant judge a dog because it a pit bull we have to say what are human doing to them!. Unfortunately I understand that there has been a lot of cases of Pit bull attacking kids, adults and other animals but have you ever questioned why are they attacking? We all know that Pit Bull are strong dogs they have big jaws, and boy they can cling but have you ever thought what trainer, and bad people do to those dog to make them mean. they torture them,They beat them, starve them, and make them monster. It the same with human if you treat someone with love, and kindness you will receive that back but if you raise your kids without love, and hitting them, and treating them bad. Those kids we turn out bad, and then again not all because if if we show them love and care they will change. Well that's the same with all animal not only Pit bull. My Dog Mila was a good Dog, she had a good heart, even though everything she went through. She didn't took her anger on any of us all she did was put her paw on us for us to rub her head and to give her kisses. She was respectful, obedient, faithful, and the most of all she was the most loving intelligent Pit bull I have ever met. Pits are incredible animals. I'm doing this petition so they don't Ban Pit bull in Broward County they already ban it in Miami-Dade. If they do where would they go, would people have to put their dogs to sleep or move further up because they're baning Pit Bull in Broward County. Please help me fight for this petition in the name of my Dear beloved Pit Mila. Even though she had 3 mo to live God gave her 6 month of happiness, now let help all the people out there in Broward county to fight for this good cause.
