Stop Harmful SUV Emissions

The petition

SUVs are destroying the environment. These gas gusling machines are emitting 20 pounds of carbon dioxide into the air for each gallon of gasoline burned.

Driving an 8,000-pound, 300-horsepower vehicle for an average of 443 hours a year wastes more energy than if you left a color television turned on for 28 years.

Increases in the distance traveled by vehicles and increases in the number of vehicles in use have limited overall efforts to reduce pollution.

In order to preserve the planet we need to take SUVs off the streets.
