The petition
We are calling upon the leadership of the Democratic National Committee to do the right thing and let the will of the voters be heard at this summer's convention. Because of current party laws, in addition to thousands of pledged delegates determined by the outcome of primaries and caucuses, the DNC will also be seating 796 so-called "Super-Delegates" in order to determine the 2008 Democratic Nominee for President. These Super-Delegates are not bound by the mandate of the voting public and could dangerously swing the results of this year's primaries in favor of a candidate not supported by a plurality of voters.
Do not to allow this to happen. We must ensure that the candidate with the highest number of pledged delegates receives the nomination.
