Name: J. Christopher Kirk, AIA on Jan 19, 2007Comments: The old viaduct is unstable, a new tunnel is infeasible, and a new viaduct unacceptable. In fact a freeway along the waterfront is unacceptable in any form. Remove the viaduct and do not replace it. Our waterfront should not be a transporation corridor for people go to and from other places.Flag

Name: Anonymous on Jan 20, 2007Comments: Improved surface street and people/bike access to the waterfront area and a new set of I-5 trucking and no-exit to downtown permanent expressways are my choices for the future. I-5 is a total mess due to the freeway park and expressway design. Better collector and distributor network will help unplug this section of I-5.Flag

Name: Matthew Kellogg on Jan 21, 2007Comments: This is a once in several lifetimes opportunity. The Olympic Sculpture Park shows us what our city waterfront can be if we think big. Did you see the diversity and number of visitors Did you notice the emotions of the visitors How many of those citizens spend any time on our waterfront today The viablility of our city depends on the thinking and actions that created the sculpture park. Let's look at the long-term and real values of a world-class waterfront.Flag

Name: Linda Massey on Jan 21, 2007Comments: I will fight against a tunnel as well - no tunnel, no viaduct. We need to be progressive in our thinking about the future - to wean our society off of fossil fuels and encourage mass transit. Building a retro viaduct or spending billions on a tunnel will not be looking to the future!Flag

Name: Matt Hoffman on Jan 22, 2007Comments: I lived a block from the viaduct for three years and experienced first hand the deafening noise, dirt, grease, and CO emissions. Anyone that drives the viaduct and "loves the view" should try getting off an exit once and a while and experience their city as it really is. Seattle can forget any idea of being a "world class city" if this project is built. Our politicians are hired to lead us toward a better future, not regurgitate the disproven concepts of the past.Flag
