We, the parents of students enrolled in the Northwestern Lehigh School District, petition the Northwestern School Board and Susanne Meixsell, Superintendent, to revise the current grading policy and adopt a 10 point scale as follows: 90-100= A=4.0 80-89= B=3.0 70-79= C=2.0 60-69= D=1.0 59-below= 0 Provide 1.0 point weight for each AP/IB class We believe these changes are necessary for the following reasons: - Other schools in the Lehigh Valley area follow the 10 point scale and now have an advantage over our students in competing for college admissions, honors programs, and merit scholarships. -At risk students will have an increased chance for success which will encourage them to stay in school and potentially lower drop out rates.
