Name: John Mensch on Aug 7, 2010Comments: I support this park for the recreational use it will provide, but also for the economic benefit this will bring to the area. I am not a resident of Northumberland County but lived very close to there for most of my life, and also have family and relatives in the area and I seen first hand what happened when factories closed and business's moved away. This park will support the area economically with jobs and business's and be an asset to the area.Flag

Name: Vaughn, Zachary S. on Aug 7, 2010Comments: By creating legal, sanctioned areas to recreate people are less likely to find illegal places for their activities. These off-road parks create revenue for the local municipalities and businesses as well as lessen financial burden on emergency crews as the activities are done in a much safer, controlled manner. As a local tax-paying business owner, we highly recommend the new off-road park being discussed.Flag

Name: Bill Marsh on Aug 7, 2010Comments: I worked as a guide at Paragon for 7 yrs and enjoyed it. The Hazleton area also profited with the park since we gassed up, ate and rented rooms at the local hotels, motels in the area. There was no wheeling after dark unless it was a scheduled night ride. No alcohol was permitted in the park and there was also camping in one area for people who made it a weekend or weekly vacation spot. I think we need more places to LEGALLY have fun playing offroad. Name: Steve Heverly on Aug 7, 2010Comments: Opening an offroad park here would help regulate what's going on o the property now and help curb any illegal actvity. The closing of Paragon offroad park in Hazleton a few years ago left lots of people with nowhere legal to go offroading. This is desperatly needed and will bring lots of money in to local businesses.Flag

Name: David Miller on Aug 7, 2010Comments: I firmly believe that creation of a legal ride park will reduce the negative effects and impacts of the trespassing and 'bootleg' riding that goes on now. I also believe it will reduce illegal dumping over time as more people get active in pressuring others against illegal activities. Name: Wayne Wilhelm on Aug 7, 2010Comments: We visit the area at least twice a year for off road recreation. We look forward to this new and improved park as a safe, legal, family fun place to go as options for off road recreation is becoming harder and harder to find. Our club also used to sponsor events and bring many people and money to the area when Paragon Park was still open. We look forward to having these events again. Thank you for your support.Flag

The idea of using the land for conservation, recreation, education, and to generate revenue for the county residents is an unusual series of positives. I support the innovative thinking of the projects founders, sponsors, and residents. - AB YoungFlag

Name: Keith Weire on Aug 7, 2010Comments: The proposed OHV park will be a real benefit to area and Pennsylvania. By allowing legal access for those in the OHV community it will give users a place to explore and enjoy their hobby. I have been to the proposed area twice with PA Jeeps on exploritory rides. By making it an OHV Park with rules and staff. Unwanted activities will decrease. I went to Paragon Adventure Park when it first started allowing clubs to ride there. It was riddled with trash and other illegal activities. It took a while but by the time the park was closed it was a very safe and orderly area. I believe that encompassed about 4500 acres. Rausch Creek right down the road is also another example of OHV areas that work. The more access that can be provided legally for people the better. I am even more encouraged because my tax dollars will finally be spent on opening an area for my form of recreation instead of trying to keep me out.Flag
