Comments: We didn't give up one community hospital to lose services in the only one left! That was not the deal... Stop the corporate tax cuts, and instead support our rural Hospitals

Comments: The proposed service cuts will affect everyone in our community especially the most vulnerable--our seniors. These cuts are unacceptable. All partners must come to the table to find a way to resolve the matter without making cuts to services at Northumberland Hills Hospital. The word Integration is in LHIN (Local Hospital Integration Networks) because there should be consultation with all stakeholders including the public who use the services, pay taxes to provide the services and, over the years, have made significant donations to gain facilities and equipment to improve the services.

Comments: Is it your job to rid all rual areas of their hospitals??? We all can't live in the cities. These hospitals are vital to the community. We have already lost a hospital in the near by community and with the purposed cuts it will not be long before this one goes. Shall we all move and become your neighbours so that we can share in your beautiful active hospital that is near where you live?

Comments: Fully equipped local Ontario hospitals are a citizen's right. Hospitals are here to be run as a necessary service not as a business.

Comments: Fully equipped local hospitals are a human right. Hospitals should not be funded and run as a business but as a necessary service to the citizens of our community.

Comments: they save money by cutting local services but how much is it going to cost to have people sent to Peterborough,Oshawa and Belleville or Kingston hospitals.Or should we just let the sick die so we can save money by doing nothing

Comments: NHH was built to replace two hospitals and supposedly provide better service to a larger area and a growing population of Torontonian retirees. This community does a tremendous amount of fundraising to keep this hospital supplied with current equipment but the government and administration cut and cut and cut!!!

Comments: As a regular user (unfortunately) of the hospital I protest any cut-backs. In Colborne, I live far enough from the hospital as it is. Our alternative will be Peterborough (who are themselves having financial troubles) and anyway this is too far for me to drive (at 75) and too far for visitors to drive. These cut-backs threaten the very people the hospital is supposed to help. Alwyn Horscroft

Comments: I cannot understand why people of my generation (I am 76), who have in their working lives helped to make Ontario one of the great places to live, are now being ignored in the schemes of governments responsible for health care. Most of us are on fixed retirement incomes without the ability to generate needed income for unexpected medical situations; and also faced with the current economic uncertainty. a situation that we had no part in creating.

Comments: This is a totally ridiculous! The Ontario Government can find 25 million in severances for the folks who were responsible for collecting the pst and gst, only to be rehired the following Monday morning to look after the HST! Dalton... .this is crap!! Don't compromise our health care any longer. God forbid, one of your loved ones would need the services here at NHH! You won't have to dig too deep to find some $$ that you let dribble out the back door in wasteful gov't spending!! This is a REAL need! Pleas don't take this away!!

Comments: The proposed cuts to ambulatory care services are of great concern. Diabetes education staffing is population based therefore cutting the service places the population below the benchmark in services. Those without insurance, on social assistance , etc. cannot afford rehab services that are costly in the comminity. Cutting the only OHIP funded service in the area would be a great hardship. The cutting ofALC/ CC beds makes some sense given chronic care is not the mandate of an acute care facility. Such service should be in the community. Having said that the hospital is always faced with a surplus of indiduals awaiting placement. The need is for more LTC beds in the community or inhanced Home Care services. The MOH has not lived up to its promises of more HC services.
