BACKGROUND As we, the undersigned, the concerned citizens of Virden and Girard, overwhelmingly voted in the Consolidated Election on November 3, 2009, for the consolidation referendum of the Girard Community School District #3 and Virden Community School District #4 for the best possible education for the children of both of our communities. We also believe that to be fair and equitable to the children of both our communities, an independent firm needs to be contracted to assist in selecting and hiring the best qualified superintendent who can lead a newly established and larger consolidated school district.

ACTION We, the undersigned, are concerned citizens of the newly consolidated North Mac School District #34 who urge our leaders to act now to conduct a national/state search for the position of Superintendent for said mentioned school. As for we, the citizens, overwhelmingly, both Girard and Virden, voted for consolidation, do believe the best interest of both towns would be best served by contracting with independent firm to conduct a national/state search to set forth and lead the newly formed North Mac Community School District #34.
