| 3 | Anonymous | This name was not wanted by the local people in the first place, it was forced onto us by Goverment.
Scrapping its use by the Royal Mail is long overdue. Good luck with your petition. |

| 5 | Elizabeth and Brian Swann | THANK GOODNESS. The continued use of the dreaded "North Humberside" must be stopped. I have sometimes crossed these words out and returned post marked "notknown at this address"
but things even come from official bodies such as Income Tax departments and Banks. |
| 6 | Ian Whiteley | A good campain that as been needed for a long time.
My full backing to you Graham.
Are we allowed to return mail back to the post office if it is address Humberside.
I would be intrested in your comment
Thank you |

| 11 | Anonymous | Since 1974 when Edward Heath created the Metropolitan Councils and added 'Humberside' to the Yorkshire map it has been seen as something foisted on the Yorkshire people by a 'southener' who had no consept of what it is to be born in Yorkshire'.
As the name no longer exists the Post Office should remove the name of North Humberside from its mailing list and return to the East Riding of Yorkshire. |
| 12 | dave wallis | Proud to be born a Yorkshireman. Embarrassed to be associated with humberside. GET RID |
| 13 | Anonymous | Humberside as a county no longer exists so please remove from the mailing lists and replace with East Yorkshire !!! |
| 14 | Anonymous | Please remove Humberside from the mailing lists!! |
| 15 | IE Torr | As you can see from my email address I work for BAE SYSTEMS. I work at the Brough site which yesterday was the scene for the announcement of 450 redundancies, the majority of which are highly skilled jobs, the likes of which Britain desperately needs to remain a competitive nation in the world economy. Despite this the petition against the use of the NH name is even more important, personally, for me. Thank you for providing this vehicle for positive change. |
| 16 | John Dunwell | Why do the Post Office say, 'if the public want us to remove it'. How can they use a name of a county that doesn't even exist? They want us to address our letters properly with postcodes, so they can address our letters properly with East Yorkshire. |

| 19 | Barry Hewson | it is time this "mythical monster" was put down. |

| 22 | Richard L Hudson | I think it is a disgrace that the Post Office" continues to use "North Humberside" as it was abolished over ten years ago. |
| 23 | RAYMOND POWER | I have written to various companies regarding the use of 'North Humberside' on my mail. No one seems to reply. |
| 24 | John Wresdell | I was a founder member of the Yorkshire Ridings' Society in 1974 and have been trying get rid of the dreaded "North Humberside" ever since.

| 26 | Anonymous | Those of us who were born and brought up in the East Riding never asked for, or were consulted, over the introduction of "Humberside" by those with vested interests in the councils. I thought it was scrapped years ago and find to my disgust the Post Office seem to persist in references to it! Delete the references to it once and for all! |

| 30 | Angeline Beckett | We have not been Humberside for some years now and it is time records/computers were updated. If the information is not fed in it will not come out. Humberside does not exist. |
| 31 | b.dyer | i am a yorkshire woman born and bred not a north humdersider |
| 32 | Bryan Davis | It is absurd to still refer to parts of Yorkshire as "North Humberside". It is both misleading and inaccurate. "Humberside" was never more than a Local Government administrative boundary and never replaced the geographical County of the East Riding of Yorkshire. |
| 33 | Anonymous | We need to get rid of this most hideous name once and for al. |
| 34 | Anonymous | Humberside has never been a county. Temporarily, it was only a local government administration area.
The county continues to be Yorkshire with its three ridings and York. |

| 37 | Anonymous | The use of a defunct county/district designation causes confusion in the wider world where the simple Yorkshire designation is historically so well known. The Post Office is a public service body that should respond to the wishes of the people it is supposed to serve. |
| 38 | Mrs Maureen Nelson | |
| 39 | Eileen Fone | I was born in Hull, an east yorkshire lass and I will die an east yoirkshire lass. North Humberside is an abomination, nothing whatsoever to do with me and my fellow yorkshire people. |

| 42 | Sandra Dews | It's unbelievable that more than10 years since the abolition of Humberside in 1996 we are still receiving numerous amounts of mail with Humberside in the address rather than the correct term East Yorkshire and surely the reason for this is the continued use of it by the Post Office. Good luck with the campaign! |
| 43 | Anonymous | I was born in East Yorkshire, Humberside was formed for administrative reasons and does not exist and should not exist. PLEASE, BRING THE EAST RIDING OF YORKSHIRE BACK HOME |
| 44 | McCarthy | |
| 45 | mike jackson | Every one should have their county included in their postal address |
| 46 | IRVIN HUGHES | EAST YORKSHIRE IT IS. AND EAST YORKSHIRE IT WILL REMAIN |
| 47 | George Buckton | |
| 48 | Anonymous | This is my birth place and will remain the East Riding of Yorkshire.
Humberside was a local goverment area, never a county. |
| 49 | austen potter | about time!
I have always used East yorkshire in my address |
| 50 | GRAHAM DEWS | Its outdated and reflects poorly both on the East Riding, East Yorkshire and the Post Office service. |
