Name: Phillip Mendiola-Long on Jul 11, 2005State: CACountry: MPComments: It is very sad commentary that we must force the protection of this major historical landmark by Petition. After all, the activities at North Field on Tinian and the subsequent take offs of the Enola Gay and Bock's Car changed the world forever. Please join me in asking EVERYONE to sign this petition!Flag

Name: Darryl Taggerty on Jul 11, 2005State:Country: GUComments: I have visited this site several times. While I understand and support the use of North Field as a military training facility, I would also like for the historic site to be preserved and the US Department of Defense to conform with national historic preservation policy, regardless of the CNMI political status technicalities. This is reasonable. Access is already restricted, and permitted. No reason to alter the historic site for routine training exercises, especially when there's a war that offers real-life training in altering the landscape. Thank you for bringing this up to me. I will encourage others to similarly support this petition.Flag

It also will provide a focal point for peace commemorations in the future.Flag
