It's all about their bottom line and who isn't paying their fair share. Isn't that the reason they tried pulling the all day kindergartens last yearFlag

Name: Paul Allen on Jan 13, 2004State: NJCountry:Comments: I think it's a great disservice to our community to even think about this plan. Forcing 4th and 5th graders into a situation where they will be expected to compete for some attention in a mini middle school will force our kids to deal with issues they will not be prepared to handle at such a young age. The argument that getting teachers together at the moment is absurd. It's their job and we don't live in a metropolis.Flag

Name: Jean Ridgeway on Jan 30, 2004State: NJCountry: USComments: One of the main reasons I am against the proposal is that my sons will never get to go to school together on the same school bus and my younger son will not have his big brother to help him adjust to going to the "big" school. Also I think too many moves to different schools is not good for learning, Kids like familar surroundings and people. My son is in Kindergarten at Llyod Rd, and takes a bus as we live past Route 34, I could not imagine that he would possibly have to take a 40 to 45 minute busride, because we don't have ,according to Mr. Quinn "a neighbourhood school", Llyod Rd, has always been my "Neighbourhood school and right now it only takes my son 10 mins at the most to get to school, Making children "commute" to school is not acceptable. If there is a problem in some schools surely the board should concentrate on fixing the problems without having to move every child from k to 5 in Matawan and Aberdeen.Flag
