No Rehab Center Behind San Luis Rey Homes

The City of Oceanside is reviewing a proposal to change the zoning to permit the construction of a 2 story, 59 bed rehab center between the San Luis Rey Mission and San Luis Rey Homes. Rehab centers have their place in the city, but the proposed location for this facility is not appropriate since it would be:
* next door to a 450 person senior citizen (average age 70) community,
* within 200 feet of a Montessori pre-school,
* within 500 feet of a Montessori K to 8 school,
* within 50 feet of a soccer field.
The proposed location can be viewed by taking Academy Rd. off of Mission and turning left at the first street. Drive past the Alano club and the location is at the first house on the right.
Please sign this petition if you agree that the proposed location is inappropriate, and the zoning change should not be approved.
