Daphne Scarbrough | We did not vote on it and Metro should not take our trees, our land and our homes and businesses without a vote.
T.R. Mackin | I do NOT want the rail on Richmond Ave.
R. Michelle Anderson | Increased utilization of mass transit could be accomplished by allowing people to ride METRO buses at no charge....they are empty the majority of the time. We do not need a rail system -- it is a costly duplication of infrastructure that is not used. Nor do trees, neighborhoods and businesses need to be destroyed to get people into the Galleria area to shop.
Richard Whiteley | I live at 4606 Staunton and am against light rail on Richmond Avenue. METRO needs to honor the voters decision in 2003 and take Richmond off the table.

Marjorie Chadwick | I question the central premise for Metro's rail on Richmond proposal. Because of their equivocation, I do not believe their research figures on ridership or any of their statements regarding the collateral damage their rail, which is really not a mass transit solution at all, will cause.
Anonymous | This will ruin the quality of life for me and my family. We would live less than 2 blocks from this train. I do not want this in my neighborhood and I will never use it.

Gayla Hamilton | I am adamantly opposed to Rail on Richmond because our mobility within the 610 Loop would be greatly diminished instead of increased. Rail should be to the outer lying areas to keep cars from coming into the city of Houston and where adequate parking to board a train could be provided.
peter popkin | I never voted on the Richmond proposal that Metro is "cramming down our throats." I voted on the Westpark alignment clearly stated on the ballot.
Gilda B. Bayegan | THERE IS A BETTER WAY!
Susan Walker | Take the rail to westpark as was voted on
Mike Staley | NO rail on Richmond. The streets will be to narrow and traffic problems will exist Put the rail where it was supposed to go on Westpark.
mary Hill | NO, to rail on Richmond!!!

Linda Suib | Please do not put the rail on Richmond. We want it on Westpark as we voted in 2003.
Michelle Beale | i voted for Rail on Wedstpark-not Richmond
nicolette voit | This was decided by vote and it was abundantly clear that Westpark was the voters selection. Why is that now being ignored? Do any politicians keep their word? Has Metro become a monopoly that controls us? I VOTE NO ON THE RAIL.ON RICHMOND, ONE MORE TIME.
Anonymous | lameass excuse for no rail on richmond
David Corban | As a homeowner within four blocks of Richmond, I oppose Metro's unwarranted intrusion into my neighborhood.
Anonymous | Metro shoul honor the route that was approved - WESTPARK!
Carol Ayres | Westpark is appropriate for a rail system. It is NOT a residential street, as much of Richmond Avenue is. Richmond Avenue would be totally ruined by putting a rail down the middle of the street. As a homeowner who lives on Richmond Avenue, count me as VASTLY opposed to rail on Richmond.
AftonAg | I say no rail on Richmond because I am a old stuborn fart. Who is opposed to it because every one else is.
karl muench | The debate should not be where do we put the rail to accomadate growth, but should we limit growth and not have rail at all.
anthony margiotta |
Ralph Wilkins | I oppose this re-thinking of the Richmond rail. The light rail has proven to be a poor decision, and expansion is an even poorer one.
Matt Howell |
Tom English | I have ridden the Metro Rail on Main a total of one time. It took forever. It was slower than taking a car. I would hate to see Richmond Street torn up as it will cost a lot of money and take a long time. If the powers that be feel that Richmond needs more public transportation another bus could be added and stops could be reduced to speed bus times. How about using one of those accordian buses if the ones are full now. Rail on Richmond is a terrible idea!
Douche Bag McSelfish | yall are idiots
Wes Mikulich | It would be a crime to destroy the Richmond greenspace. Put rail on westHEIMER where it will do the most good!
Mark Ulrich | I am vigorously opposed to light rail on Richmond. Thanks for the website and keeping us informed!
Donna Kay Smith |
Jack Myhogoff | The rail will bring dark people to our neck of the woods. I ain't likin' that.
Hetta Lettuce | I like to eat at Burger King near Wesleyan. The train will make it harder for me to turn left to get to the drive through lane. Don't mess with my whopper eating.
Bootsie Pickles | My Ford Excursion does not fit a lane on Richmond, especially when I am yapping on my cell phone and yelling at Margarita to pick up my kids on time. Now they want to put a train on that street? My SUV needs WIDE LANES. Oh yeah, I like trees and am an environmentalist despite my driving a vehicle that requires filling up every 16.2 miles.
| 50 | Dick Hurtz | Say yes to massive Costcos and surface parking on Richmond!
Keep Richmond Ugly. Say no to rail! |
