Comments: We did not vote on it and Metro should not take our trees, our land and our homes and businesses without a vote.

Comments: Increased utilization of mass transit could be accomplished by allowing people to ride METRO buses at no charge....they are empty the majority of the time. We do not need a rail system -- it is a costly duplication of infrastructure that is not used. Nor do trees, neighborhoods and businesses need to be destroyed to get people into the Galleria area to shop.

Comments: I live at 4606 Staunton and am against light rail on Richmond Avenue. METRO needs to honor the voters decision in 2003 and take Richmond off the table.

Comments: I question the central premise for Metro's rail on Richmond proposal. Because of their equivocation, I do not believe their research figures on ridership or any of their statements regarding the collateral damage their rail, which is really not a mass transit solution at all, will cause.

Comments: I am adamantly opposed to Rail on Richmond because our mobility within the 610 Loop would be greatly diminished instead of increased. Rail should be to the outer lying areas to keep cars from coming into the city of Houston and where adequate parking to board a train could be provided.

Comments: Westpark is appropriate for a rail system. It is NOT a residential street, as much of Richmond Avenue is. Richmond Avenue would be totally ruined by putting a rail down the middle of the street. As a homeowner who lives on Richmond Avenue, count me as VASTLY opposed to rail on Richmond.

Comments: I have ridden the Metro Rail on Main a total of one time. It took forever. It was slower than taking a car. I would hate to see Richmond Street torn up as it will cost a lot of money and take a long time. If the powers that be feel that Richmond needs more public transportation another bus could be added and stops could be reduced to speed bus times. How about using one of those accordian buses if the ones are full now. Rail on Richmond is a terrible idea!
