WHICH brings me to two pet peeves: why does the U.S. have so few inspectors for farms, circuses, transport, pet stores, breeding facilities, etc? There seems to be plenty of money for Idiot Bills to pass. I guess because folks like us don't have enough $$ to effectively lobby. AND...(being a 'Project Runway' junkie)...was anyone offended by the episode that required an outfit for "the latest fashion accessory...the dog"? |

There needs to be more done to stop these people. Do not patronize pet stores that sell puppies! Those who do perpetuate the problem. Petfinder.com is a wonderful resource for finding a companion... many animals in "foster care" waiting for adoption. Puppies to seniors in every breed and those who care for them while finding a home for them are knowledgable. I don't know a single person who not be moved if they were to see the conditions of animals raised in mills. 2x2 cages, no human contact, often no heat, motheres are removed the moment the pups can eat, wire floors, etc. This is NO way for any living creature to spend their beginings, or for the breeders to spend their WHOLE LIFE... the puppies are lucky- they leave. The moms and dads spend their life in horrible conditions with no medical attention! Please help these animals! |
