    Comments: It is important for residents to understand that in increase in tax will have an effect on everyone. If the proposed tax passes you will be charged more for your coffee, hair cut or dinner etc... to make up the increased cost of operating a business in Ferndale. Unless businesses are independently wealthy, the money will have to come from somewhere. If businesses can't keep up with the tax increases and move out, residential property values will decline! A decision like this has an effect on everyone! People do not want to pay more for anything in the current state of our economy!

    Comments: Seasonal banners hanging from light posts do not make people flock to a city. These downtown businesses are what have made, and continue to make Ferndale's downtown area vibrant. Don't penalize them for that.

    Comments: Ferndale cannot afford the PSD tax or have insensitive Craig Covey as our mayor. He cannot ignore the number major businesses that have left or gone out of business this past year. An empty store front negatively impacts Ferndale's reputation MORE than not enacting the proposed PSD tax improvements.

We already have some of the highest property taxes in Oakland County AND it is obvious that the economy in Michigan is in recession. Making it more expensive to do business in Ferndale by way of increased rents does NOT make this community more attractive to prospective business.

Times change and laws should change with them. I also think there should be a leasion to council that is a business memeber of the community. Nobody on council speaks for business.
