Comments: I am a U.S. citizen living in Canada as a result of DOMA and U.S. Immigration law. I was unable to sponsor my same sex partner for immigration because I am gay. I was faced with the harsh reality of deciding to make a life with the woman I love or remaining in my home country. As a result my biological daughter has not been allowed to visit my home in almost 3 years because of a court ruling in a small town in the U.S.. No person, gay or straight, should have to make such a horrible decision and further suffer the vulnerability that being unequal under the law inflicts. Your state has an opportunity to be one more place where gays are equal. Every state is a step toward equality on a national level. Please make everyone equal under the law in your state.

Comments: As an american elect government official, I feel it is your god given right and as a person who has been given the freedom not only to live in this beautiful country, as well as given the freedom to become a government official, it is right to allow this freedom for all of us who live in this country.

Comments: i do not live in california but i will sign any and all petitions that i can to support the equality of gay rights. we as poeple and humans who love and live with the people we love and want to spend the rest of our lives with, should have the same rights and privliges of heterosexuals, and should not be shut out of our rights, you will take our votes and our tax dollars but will not allow us the same rights to marry and have the same privliges. this is not RIGHT!!!

Comments: The majority would never accept a limitation on what they regard as their human right to marry. It is an outrage that a civil right should be withdrawn from an entire segment of the population FOR NO RATIONAL REASON. Please work for the overturn of this prejudicial blight and give human rights to the gay citizens and taxpayers of California.

Comments: i thought we were the land of the free and if we are then why cant gay people get married. it sucks that if i want to get married i would have to move to another country that approves of my lifestyle, america doesnt approve oh who i am, and i am proud of what i am and who i am. i cant change who i am. no one can change what i am. we all just want our rights to be free to be married to the ones we love.
