Name: Anonymous on Dec 8, 2007Comments: The proposed Park West development is simply too big and completely inappropriate for a location in the middle of our neighborhoods and residential communities. It needs to be cut back to less than a fifth of its proposed size or moved to a different location near major highways.Flag

Name: Lindsey Chester on Dec 8, 2007Comments: I am definitely against this type of Big box retailer in this location. Mixed use is about human scale and there is nothing human scale about a Super Target! The sheer amount of traffic this site is going to generate has no business being in a neighborhood area!Flag

Name: Pam St Jean on Dec 8, 2007Comments: The magnitude in the size and scope of this proposed development is of grave concern to me. I am very concerned about traffic impact, the radical change this will bring to the feel of the neighborhood and the environmental impact. The drought we are experiencing makes me very mindful that resources are not unlimited and this development would add a substantial burden on these.Flag

Name: Jackie Holcombe on Dec 9, 2007Comments: Our land use plan describes Major Commercial this way: "Larger-scale commercial uses located at interchanges/intersections of major thoroughfares to provide commercial services on regional level." No matter how many times it's repeated, widening of NC 54 between Cary Pkwy and Morrisville Pkwy does not a major thoroughfare make. Park West belongs where other regional shopping centers have been successfully sited for years and years - adjacent to major highways and interstates.Flag

No matter how many times it's repeated, widening of NC 54 between Cary Pkwy and Morrisville Pkwy does not a major thoroughfare make. Mixed use node allows for minor commercial only. Regional Activity Centers, higher density land uses like Park West, are always within 1/4 + 1/2 mile of major intersections. Park West belongs where other regional shopping centers have been successfully sited for years and years - adjacent to major highways and interstates.Flag

Name: Stephen Bank on Dec 12, 2007Comments: This project will inflict untold burdens of the residents of Morrisville for years to come. It must be halted or altered tremendously if in some form it will be a benefit for MorrisvilleFlag

Name: Judith Bank on Dec 12, 2007Comments: There are numerous reasons why I oppose this project, but foremost are the apartments, the hotel, and the effect on the environment. Cary is considering Aquifers as a solution to water shortages. Morrisville will never have that option if most of the land is paved and impervious surfaces.Flag

Name: David Ogren on Dec 12, 2007Comments: All the objections are very valid concerns. I especially point to the further dumping of traffic on already congested roads at certain times of day. Also to propose that density /water useage potential at a time when water resources are already streached thin is irresponsible on the part of the developers!!!!Flag

Name: Richard Elliott on Dec 12, 2007Comments: The vote on Park West Village will be defining, and have major negative impacts on the town, the next election, and Morrisville's future. A vote against rezoning will help save the town as a desirable place to live, expecially if subsequently rezoned low-density residential, which will increase town livability, enhance town character, lower traffic growth and have far less negative baggage. A vote to deny rezoning will also mark the beginning of rebalancing and halt the current direction of making Morrisville Wake County's major commercial exploitation zone. Residents do not want or need any additional "mixed-use/commercial" projects, especially on prime real estate. Vote no to Park West! Save Morrisville's future. Have patience and plan to expand the tax base by promoting low-density housing instead of tax-losing commercial forcing compensatory tax increases on homeowners.Flag

Name: Anonymous on Dec 12, 2007Comments: It already takes 30-45 minutes to go from Morrisville-Carpenter Road to Morrisville Parkway via Highway 54 during peak times..which is ridiculous. Adding even more traffic to this area will be horrific! If the developers really want this, they should pay for road improvement from High House all the way to 540. The suggestion to move this complex to 40 or 540 would make big business happy as well as the individuals who live in this community and don't want it spoiled even further.Flag

Name: DeAnnah Baker on Dec 13, 2007Comments: The current road configuration cannot handle a project this size. If the project does pass, please, please consider putting speed bumps on Olde Weatherstone Way. This road will clearly become a cut through and will not be safe anymore for the Weatherstone Elementary school children. Thank you!Flag

Name: Anonymous on Dec 13, 2007Comments: The magnitude of the development will overwhelm the city and county in terms of transportation, schools, police etc... We are already dealing with severe overcrowding in our schools, the intersection of NC54 and Cary parkway already suffers from a really bad traffic. Please use common sense and reject the development.Flag

Name: Dave Buell on Dec 13, 2007Comments: This is obscene. We've seen this sort of thing before. It would be a great triumph, if the board would listen to the citizens, and not the money. It's a matter of common sense. It's a matter of right and wrong. Do the right thing!!!!!!!!Flag
