How many victims did these 3 have PRIOR to being caught Abuse a child once - that is one too many times. If you are sick enough to target a child once, you're sick enough to do it again.Flag

Name: Karri Woods on Mar 22, 2005State: NCCountry: USComments: I support Vanessa and her efforts to get this campaign off the ground. I am also a stay-at-home military wife who has just moved to NC from Fort Campbell, where we have 3 registered offenders. I too was shocked and very upset. Two of the offenders gave addresses within walking distance of my former housing area. Please help in getting this problem to national attention.Flag

Name: Doreen Rapp on Mar 24, 2005State: COCountry: USComments: The United States Military has it within its power and purview to protect its families living on military bases from registered sex offenders -- that is to say, they have the 'manpower,' as well as other means, to be able to not only 'keep track' of these offenders, but to inform families on base of their existence and proximity. People who are deployed in our country's military should not have to worry about having a 'registered sex offender' having even the opportunity (Lord knows they don't need a motive) to molest or harm a child whose parent is deployed overseas. PLEASE SEE THAT SOME ACTION IS TAKEN ON THIS ISSUE BEFORE THERE IS ANOTHER TRAGEDY LIKE THE ONE LAST WEEK IN FL WITH JESSICA LUNSFORD! GET THESE PEOPLE AWAY FROM THESE 'TEMPTING' CIRCUMSTANCES AND AWAY FROM THESE FAMILIES AND BAN THEM FROM LIVING 'ON BASE!!!' And then make sure that the civilian community where they are living is made aware of their presence, especially since they ARE military personnel. If peple are informed so that they can pay attention and protect their children, these tragic crimes can be avoided!Flag
