Comments: Resident of Vale Square for thirty years, and therefore aware that the nuisance by day and night which by this airport causes to an unoffending seaside town has increased enormously. We should be allowed to sleep in peace.

Comments: As a resident in Broadstairs our household can clearly hear aircraft taking off. The noise late evening is even more apparent. Flights during the night would be ridiculous.

Comments: As a resident of Ramsgate and as someone concerned with the wider issues of climate change, I am totally opposed to the expansion of Manston. As part of my overall concerns, I am naturally opposed to ay night flights into or out of Manston.

Comments: We do not want any night flights ,I think 11 pm is still late if people have small children the last thing you want is them waking up at that time of night and not being able to get them back to sleep.

Comments: As 8 hours of undisturbed sleep are needed for health, the night period should be at least 10 pm to 8 am, to allow for the rare late/early plane, and for children. There are many reasons for banning night flights, and restraining aviation, for example: SASIG has shown that there is no economic benefit from night flights. There are huge adverse health impacts from loss of sleep. Night flights have double the effect of day flights on global warming and and flying is three times as bad as surface transport for climate change. Aviation expansion damages the UK economy because of the tax subsidy of £50,000 per job and the tourism deficit of £17bn.

Comments: Not only night flights are serious to our quality of life but what about how low the planes fly during the day and query the flight paths because studd hill, tankerton, whitstable are being constantly flown over at very low height. Why cant they come in from the sea - manston in thanet so keep the planes over thanet. We were not consulted on the flight paths and have been told they are supposed to fly over the sea to hampton pier then turn in but they are not.

Comments: I am certainly against night flights and have considerable concerns about the environmental safeguards at Manston, especially operating with no fuel interceptor on the main runway. I am told that in the event of a crash involving a fuel spillage on the main runway the contingency plan is to turn off the valves to the drains and contain the fuel on the runway.

Comments: I have recently complained twice to KIA regarding 2 flights operating outside the Variation to S106 Agreement hours. The first was a flight on Sunday 3rd May at 0504 hrs and the second was on Sunday 21st June at 2340 hrs. Both of these flights took off in the direction of and over Acol village. Generally, flights taking off over Acol fly a loop over the village before heading off to their destination. This is horrendously noisy, particulary at 5 in the morning. The replies I received from both Infratil and TDC were typical, ie we are allowed to do this because these were not scheduled flights! To my way of thinking this gives KIA carte blanche to operate anything at any time of day or night and to hell with the consequences and people it disturbs. I am totally sick and fed up with this airport.

Comments: I agree that the long term future for Ramsgate lies in tourism which would be ruined by an increase in both day and night flights.I cannot believe that everybody cannot see the sense in this and well done to your website to keep the matter a more democratic one.Who are the fools that run Thanet

Comments: i object to any night flights, i object to any further development of the airport as a cargo terminal. Both of these will in no way help to develop Thanet but will in fact have a negative affect on investment. The local and county council should in fact be helping push the benefits of local businesses such as Thanet Earth who offer a much more healthy, locally productive proposition than an airport flying in cheap african food on decrepid aircraft potentialy all night and day.
