| 707 | Romeo | after nearly 25 years and numerous movies it would be completely a joy to see the same man who started it all in 1984 reprise "his" role on the original elm street film in a remake of that film.but,it is typical hollywood to destroy a classic horror movie.having said all that,how dare you (producers of newline) not cast robert englund as freddy.he is and always will be freddy no matter how many other freddy k's come in the future!! i have been a serious freddy fan since the beginning in 84.so serious that i grew up making freddy gloves out of cardboard and soda cans and i now make them professionally..and i'll be damed if it is common knowledge that someone else is going to play the role as freddy krueger and not Robert Englund.i will not watch this film if robert is not cast as freddy,and i will make it my personal objective to see to it that no one else i know watches it either. and if robert englund is not cast as freddy in the so called "remake",i hope the film fails miserably.and i'm sure it will because there are millions of us true freddy fans out there.and out of respect for Bob Englund,we will see to it that no one we know sees this film without the "real" freddy krueger in it,MR. ROBERT ENGLUND. |

And why a remake? It's just not time for something like that. The overwhelming majority of this series fans want a sequel. I know Platinum Dunes CAN do a Sequel if they want to. Please be different for once and just continue the series as is, and don't remake Nightmare just because Zombie's Halloween was a success. Don't forget that Freddy vs. Jason with the original vision of Krueger was a success as well. |
