AnonymousAll games (PC side) need use Linux based servers to run, Epic, seriously, for the good of the community, stop caring about the console whores and worry about the PC side, fix yourself or UT3 is going to DIE!

AnonymousUT3 sucked allot and it's because game spy and Epic don' know how to work together on ANYTHING.
proto_pipI beleive that Unreal tournament 3 is THE best game and series out there. I think that the conflict from Linux is just a jerk behaviour. A person that would not allow a crowd to play unreal because he/she doesn't like video games. I beleive that the person should look at herself and think that allot of people worked hard to program / code / map / model and many other things. Thank you for not thinking about others!!! LEGALIZE UNREAL NOW OR ELSE!!!!

AnonymousFor sure, UT3 on Linux is a must. It was available from day one with UT2004, why should this release be any different?
JordanPlease stop Gamespy from PLAGUING UT3 like every other game it gets its filthy hands on. What were ya thinking Epic, Gamespy is killing UT3. GET A SERVER HISTORY TAB THAT WORKS.

Grant D.Gamespy sucks, and not just for its tendrils attached to UT3 They do nothing truly good for the gamer, if you actually try doing business with them, their customer service is horrible. If gamespy ever does go down and I hope it does, we wouldnt be able to play online unless epic patched Gamespy out. Which they should do anyway.

AnonymousI will not buy the game until this issue is resolved. I do own a copy of all other previous UT titles. Don't let it end here!

Zach GalkinThis is a large part of why UT3 is dying so shortly after its birth.
Tomásgamespy sux! laggy servers and bad stuff , u should reconsider what're you doing, cos you're BIG so big and gamespy is sh1t, u canget somethingbetter! =) cheers

GlennMy gamespy account will not work. I have not played online yet. Not happy.
Tye LucasIf indeed Gamespy ends up being the culprit on this and they kill any possibility of us having a linux server and or client for UT3 then I will be cancelling my subscription with Gamespy and will no longer have anything to do with Gamespy or IGN. What a shame! This could have been a good thing for them and they screw it up like this. Idiots!

john yateshad this game since first release, and i cannot find any decent server to play on!,i'm disappointed highly in the latest game by epic! i expected better from a reputable company.... then again, maybe it's not?....
Tim CI think this tatic by G/S or whomever it is, needs to be attacked by the game hostings companies, and supported by those playing UT3 now.
KingLolloI bought this game, because Epic promised the linux version. By the way, not having a linux server at release or some weeks later means good game UT3. Many games have died, because there was no linux server at release.
Luis GarciaWe need that Linux version pronto!
Lupine
AnonymousThe previous versions of UT were far superior without the handicapped Gamespy UI
[Core]FraggerScrew it Gamespy and Epic.
dàC! / Thomas K.Agreed, gamespy is definately NOT needed and cause more harm than good.

AnonymousIm at a total loss, its a tragedy that gamespy has got its dirty little fingers deep into what was the best game ever. I would say the majority of PC gamers hate gamespy. Anyway i got a refund for UT3, im just annoyed that ive been waitng 3 years for a game thats a joke.
Mike HoustonI am not happy that there is no Linux client or server software and I also very much resent the fact that I had to register a Gamespy login just to be able to play my game in singleplayer mode. Yes, you can bypass the login by simply typing any name in the field for singleplayer, but then the campaign won't save your progress and you can't choose your character. I was expecting the Linux client to be available on the media when I bought the game. (silly me for not checking beforehand, but it used to be in previous versions) Get rid of Gamespy, please. It will only hinder the online community.
AraknonEpic was doing fine on their own with UT2k4. Why go and screw things up now! Ahh, nevermind...because ultimately there goal is aimed at the console market!! They could care less about us PC gamers....you know, the ones that made them millions to begin with!!
Jay DawesI ran dedicated UT99, UT2003 and UT2004 Linux servers on my own $ on my own hardware for years. I played each of the games a lot too. I bough a new machine I was planning on dedicating as a UT3 server. But, I only run Linux servers. If there is some kind of strategy with Game Spy to eliminate the release of a dedicated Linux server, then I will not be running a UT3 server. Based on the adaption of UT3 from looking at those playing compared to those still playing UT2004 online, I suspect that the UT3 adoption is going to be slow and probably won't compare to the previous generations, especially if the server selection doesn't grow. From what I can gather, most of the server admins from the past, prefer Linux for their servers too. There's a certain amount of inertia that need to be maintained if the game is going to build a large following, like the previous generations. I remember UT2003 & UT2004. There was very little time after their releases before there was a very large selection of servers to play on. UT3 is lagging. And all I can gather is that it's related to this interrelationship with IGN....
Stephen ShieldsThe gamespy login at the moment is a joke. I am constantly unable to log in for some reason. If the gamespy login actually worked and was reliable I am sure that the UT community would tolerate it. But in it's current state it is just poor workmanship and it is driving people away from the game.
DeviliniaWe have not needed gamespy before in Unreal Tournament series and we for sure dont need it now either!
