Comments: Our entire family was shocked and saddened to hear that Mr. McCreary would not be remaining with us. I fully agree that with all the upheaval in our school it is NOT in our children's best interest to bring in yet another new pricipal. Mr. McCreary has been fantastic.

Comments: I had written Joe McCreary a note saying I was very disappointed that he wasn't selected. I wasn't sure if my views were universal...this petition has made me realize they are! I've been at Almond 11 yrs with 2 kids----and 3 principals. Joe is terrifit. Please seriously reconsider instating a known---and very skilled---quantity at Almond.

Comments: Personally, I have not had interaction with Joe. But I was very impressed with the overwhelming response from the majority of teaching staff and parents in support of his hiring. The Board and Administrative office have apparently misread this situation and have not adequately explained their decision in a way that makes sense.

Comments: In the beginning I did not think Joe could cut it as the principal. I was dead wrong. I had a problem with my son in sixth grade and Joe fixed it promptly and with little fanfare. The teacher involved did not get better and the situation improved. You are making a big mistake that you will regret if you bring in another principal and cause further upheaval at Almond.

Comments: Please consider allowing Mr. McCreary to stay in his current position as Principal at Almond Elem. There is now a great deal of animosity seeping through the school regarding your decision which will impede the "New" Principal's ability to successfully create a positive school environment. Too bad more consideration was not devoted to this issue before an impetuous decision was made to replace Mr. McCreary.

Comments: Mr. McCreary is such a wonderful principal. He is a good listener, understanding, and diplomatic. He takes the time to interact and, yes, PLAY with the kids. They just love him. It is hard to believe that he wasn't chosen to return next year as principal. Won't you reconsider Terrible disapointment and loss of faith in the school district's leadership are a poor way to end this school year and start a new one.

Comments: Here is a copy of my email to Tim Justus on 3/24, when I heard the news... Dear Mr. Justus, I am still in shock to learn that Joe McCreary will not be principal of Almond next year. As difficult as it was to fill Jeff Baier's shoes, I thought Mr. McCreary did an outstanding job. He worked around the clock to ensure the many activities at Almond ran smoothly. He spent the time and effort to acknowledge those kids who deserved recognition, when it would have been just as easy to focus on the troublemakers. He was always accessible to parents and participated in PTA events and fundraisers with enthusiasm! I hope the district has the foresight to keep him, because he is definitely a "keeper". Sincerely, Laura Roberts Jones Parent of an Almond 6th Grader

Comments: I have heard nothing but positive feedback about Mr. McCreary and the job he has done during the last year and I am very disappointed that he will not be given the chance to continue on as Principle. At the very least the School Board needs to do a better job communicating the reasons for disrupting the leadership yet again. I would be very angry and disappointed to discover that this important decision was driven by politics or any other reason not directly related to the well-being of our kids.
