Be worned that if you don't have good credit sooner or later you wont be able to buy food to feed yourself littl on any children you may have by the time this law is through with you!

Comments: I concur, and am starting my own petition to stop utility companies to stop reporting your payments as if they were actual credit. There needs to be a total overhauling of the credit card industry by Congress, chaired by people with no ties to the revelant industries.

Comments: Some companies list an account as in collection even if the charge is illegal. The credit reporting doesn't care.

Comments: Great! Even mortgage companies have said the credit score companies have unlimited power re: credit scores, which is unfair. Credit Scores are being used against people, and employers should NOT have access to this private information.

Comments: I resent these PREDATORS getting any information about me. I filed bankruptcy over a year ago. Even before the discharge I was bombarded with prescreened offers filling my mailbox. Washington Mutual, which was bought by Citibank in 2003 sends me offers almost every other day. I didn't ask for this garbage, and yet I am the one who has to take the time to opt out. I read that the Federal Reserve recently sent a report to Congress saying CC co's were not extending offers of credit to those who are unable to pay. That is nothing but a crock of you know what! Since Citibank owns Washington Mutual, how many of these other lesser know CC co's that flood the mailboxes of those who have filed bankruptcy are owned by the well know CC co's. Read the book SHORTCHHANGED;LIFE AND DEBT IN THE FRINGE ECONOMY! They LOVE to extend credit to those who are high risk! Especially now that they got their new bankruptcy law passed! All they do is to change their names ! Washington Mutual= Citibank= PREDATOR!!

Comments: My attempts to pay over minimum and being good with these companies is only netting me more heartache as they keep raising the interests more and more. It's time to end this financial rape, and allow us to work at our debt more efficiently.

Comments: I pay my bills on time every month but my credit score is low due to haveing charge cards over 90% but I choose to have cards with low limits. I paid these cards off to raise my score but still my score remains low. Every year I find wrong things on my credit report and it takes months to remove them. It only takes the reporter 1 second to add something bad on your report. This is wrong and is discrimination. It is a game for creditors to charge higher interest. Now a lot of insurance co. are useing your credit score to charge higher premiums. My credit score has nothing to due with the way I drive or what home I need to insure. Something must be done.

Comments: We really do need to do something about the credit reporting agencies who are allowed to control our lives in their own strange way. I recently paid off debts which showed up on my report and there remains only two debts which are in good standing yet my score was less after the payments due to "too many enquiries" and now I even have an "alert" on one report. Actually I don't even know what they mean by these statements. I'm sending this petition to as many people as I think will sign it. Thanks.

Comments: I agree with everything mentioned but because the people that have to pass this law will have perfect credit and not have a clue what is like to pay outrageous interest rates on cars houses or things like that they will not care.

Comments: I realize that some of my fellow Americans might object to more government regulation of business, which this measure is. To them, I would simply respond: When government requires citizens to buy a product, as is the case with insurance, the product is no longer truly a “free enterprise” product. We have to buy their product. We have no choice. When we are required by law to buy a product, the playing field is automatically tilted in the seller’s favor, in which case it is important that reasonable controls be installed to insure that consumers are not gouged.
