No Medicine Top-up Fees

We, the undersigned, oppose the Scottish Executive's plans to charge students from England, Wales and Northern Ireland £3,000 a year to study medicine.

We urge the Scottish Executive to consider less punitive ways of preventing a shortage of doctors in Scotland, such as offering incentives to students graduating from medicine in Scotland to stay. Students from other parts of the UK should not be discriminated against.

This petition will be submitted to Jim Wallace, Minister for Enterpise and Lifelong Learning.
