Dear Huron School Board,

As freedom-loving South Dakotans, we oppose the requirement of students to wear masks in the 2021-22 school year. Each of us has different reasons and rationales behind our opposition, but we are united in the insistence that our students are not forced to wear face coverings at school or other school-related functions.

Furthermore, we know that the last Friday of September (9/24/2021) is when the government takes count of students to determine the amount of federal aid given to the schools (https://doe.sd.gov/ofm/enrollment.aspx). If the mask mandate is not lifted by the end of the next school board meeting (9/13/21), we will withhold our children from school on 9/24/21 so that they are not counted by the government.
