252 Carol O'BrienI shop at Kohl's in Bel Air but a residential location like Forest Hill would be a mistake. Please do not do this to this community particularly next to an elementary school. Kohl's will cause more bad feelings than a good business rapport with Harford County residents. Thanks.

254 Dennis Wiseman JrThe plan to put a Kohl's at Rt. 24 and Osborne Parkway is a BAD plan. This type of develoment on this corner will destroy the community. NO KOHL'S IN FOREST HILL!!!
255 AnonymousForest Hill is a great community and I love Kohls but we have one in Bel AIr and that is close enought for me...I really don't want the traffic and congestion to get worse in Forest Hill unnecessarily when people can ust go less than ten miles to get to another Kohls location. Thanks for listening to the community!

257 Teresa BrethauerI live on Trudeau & I worry about an increase of more traffic on our street. I also am concerned about the store being right up against FLES's parking lot & the delivery entrance being right next to FLES. Will the workers building the store be screened for backround checks? Will the drivers delivering to Kohl's be screened also? Will the workers? We don't need child predators working so close to our children's school! This would be the same if it's a Kohl's or whatever else being built. There must be a buffer zone & an alternate delivery entrance other than Osborne!

264 Caroline SchillerI in no way support the building of a Kohl's in our neighborhood. I believe that the neighborhood should boycott Klein's grocery store for one week and everyone shop at Giant or another store and let them see what could happen if they go ahead with the plan for the Kohl's....thoughts?

266 Dennis L. NealThe first proposal of the integrated shopping center was perfect. Changing the plan to a big box store such as Kohl's after meeting with the community and promising us a tasteful, community-oriented shopping area was like a slap in the face. Its a matter of integrity to me. In this situation, Klein family, you don't act like you have any.

272 Carole AppelI love Kliens Stores however, I am totally against this Kohls endeavor. Please reconsider your options.
273 Jonathan MarksMy family strongly opposes a big box store at the corner of Route 24 and Osborne Parkway. Tell Klein's they should implement the original plan which would maintain the community atmosphere the homeowners in Forest Lakes and neighboring communities moved in this area for. Our family, neighbors, and fellow community residents will not shop at Kohl's or Klein's if this Kohls is approved. If we want to shop at Kohl's we will drive 7 miles to the Kohl's in Bel Air. Tell Klein's NO KOHL'S IN FOREST HILL.

275 Kelly MarksNo Kohl's in Forest Hill. Our family moved to Forest Hill for a sense of community and to get way from the big box stores in Abingdon and Bel Air. We strongly oppose the Kohl's in Forest Hill. In addition, we will no longer shop at Kohl's or Klein's if this plan is approved.

282 AnonymousI support this cause. I think it is important to keep our community safe for our kids. We really don't want to add to the amount of traffic in our community where our kids walk to school, ride bikes on the bike lane and play on our streets. I have seen the parking lot at Kohl's on their sale and holiday weekends.... This is definitely not what we need in our community!

286 Allen M. BaldwinIf it's too late to stop Kohls from building, PLEASE don't allow them to access any part of their lot via Osborne Parkway. Make all traffic stay on Rt. 24 for ingress / egress even if another light has to be added. Keep the store as close to 24 as possible not set-back near our school. People are speeding now on our 25 MPH road from Graphton Shop to Rt. 24 and I can't imagine the number of cars that will be added due to this store. Why not the old C-Mart lot? What about our home values?
287 Mark GramsMost of us moved to Forest Hill for the smaller town feel/charm and space available to raise a family within close proximity to necessary amenities (Bel AIr). The original planning for this property, which incorporated those feelings, seemed acceptable to many, yet as usual the "playing field" changes with no regard for the "little guy". There are plenty of new and other more commercial sites available, vacant and for sale/lease closer to Bel Air for larger retailers. Heck in another year or so I'd bet that one of the four major drug store buildings situated within a 2 sq mile radius in the area will most likely be vacant with the economy the way it is going. Forest Hill doesn't want to look like the fiasco created east of Bel Air. Local government needs to listen to it's communities concerns and this one certainly effects many aspects (ie: school, roads, aesthetics, etc) of our community. Enough is enough already! No Kohl's in Forest Hill.

293 Vince VonoRespectfully, my family and I are opposed to the planned development of a Kohls store at the existing proposed location in Forest Hill. We've always been a supporter of local family businesses in the area, such as Kleins, yet we will boycott the Kleins businesses as well as Kohls if this plan proceeds. I'd have to ask the Kleins family and their representatives a question.. What would you do and how would you feel if developers were planning on building a department store at the entrance to your home? I imagine you would feel the same as we do and would do everything in your power to stop it from happening. Please reconsider... Our community is depending on you to do the right thing.

296 Lori MatulevichTo build a Kohl's right next to an Elementary School with little or no regard for our community is totally irresponsible by Howard Klein, B2 zoned or not! To say that this has been zoned B2 for 20 year is not acceptable. Look how this county has changed in 20 years......even the last 10 years. Our school is not a buffer!! It is a safe place our children go to learn and grow. No one disputes the Klein's generosity in Harford county thus far. What they have to remember is that they must continue to make good choices in planning to build on this parcel. "A deal they could'nt refuse" from Kohl's does not make it right for our community or Forest Hill as a whole. We are not route 40 or the Festival in Belair. Kohl's is 7 miles away! We are a neighborhood with a community elementary school, recreation fields, walking trials and tree lined streets. We must protect the essential characteristics which make this community our HOME!! Not to mention the safety of our children! How about the health, safety and welfare of all our residents? Protecting these is the goal of most "planning and zoning offices"! I can only hope and pray that everyone involved can have a reasonable dialogue and do what is RIGHT! Let's give Howard a deal he "can't refuse!!"........."NO KOHL'S IN FOREST HILL!!"
297 Daniel & Otelia TavernierWe are totally against Kohl's in Forest Hill!
298 Jonathan MatulevichNO KOHL'S IN FOREST HILL... enough said!!!
299 AnonymousI do not feel that the entrance to this type of development with an elementary school situated very close by is the proper location for a two-story, box-style department store like Kohls. I would think that Churchville or Aberdeen would be a much more desirable and profitable location with the BRAC group relocating to Aberdeen in the next year or so. Perthaps a Route 40 location is wise.We have a Kohls in BelAir, 6.5 miles from Forest Lakes and I know that I do not intend to shop at any Kohls location if they continue with the plan for the Forest Hill store. I have shopped at Klein's for 20 years and have not patronized the stores during the past five weeks. I usually spend about $400 dollars a week if not more with a family of five including two college-aged sons and a sophmore in highschool. I was pleased to meet so many people from other Forest HIll developments who feel the same way and do not want to see a box store in this area. People critcized Eileen Rehrmann, former County Executive for allowing the area to expand and develop way too quickly. But I have not seen those in charge since her time making better decisions and working for the people, all the people who elected them into office. I am speaking about the County Executive, County Council, Zoning, DAC... I suggest that Kohls and Kleins rethink this plan full of opposition and future trouble and realize that the community is really upset and plans not to stop this movement to be heard. I always respected Klein's community involvement and realized that they received their patrons loyalty in return. After meeting with many members of the community, I've discovered that so many are disappointed in the Kleins family and the way they handled the situation with us. The Kleins family knew that this land and it's future would be a source of contention when they purchased it because of their participation in efforts to stop the development of a grocery store in 1997. Many of the same issues from that situation still apply: safety of local students and recreation council participants, no access onto Osbourne Parkway, carefully planned development to fit the feel of the neighborhood. I hope Kohls reconsiders it's decision to get involved in this problem. I realize it is very tempting to sell a piece of one's soul for millions of dollars, but I hope the Klein family reconsiders it's decision as well and truly earns it's reputation as solid community leaders and developers. Let's keep the conjestion in BelAir on business route 24 and if we have to, build out route 40 which is very commercial and a larger roadway to meet the needs of BRAC. I 've loved living in Harford County and raising my family in Forest Hill and would hate to think that big money is more important than the special, caring people of this community. As Charles A. Sainte-Beuve said, "Tell me who admires and cares for you, and I will tell you who you are."
