Augusto Rosario | These two jail sites being proposed are in a area where families live with their kids. The sites should in an industrial area where families are not near by. Please consider the impact of these to the familes that live in this area.

jacqueline Koch | As a local resident, I would really ask that the city reconsider the location of this jail. There are really too many reasons why this doesn't make sense, especially given that this community already shoulders a heavy burden of industrial activity and traffic issues. WE are trying to improve this part of Seattle, and a jail isn't what the kids around here need. We need more parks, less industry, and NO JAIL.

Anonymous | I think this idea of a jail in our up and coming area is a horrible idea. I'm sure there are 7 acres somewhere on Mercer Island or Magnolia that is available. Why does the city always have to look at our neighborhood?

Sean Waldron | Building a jail in a fragile, struggling neighborhood will do more harm than good. Please encourage the pride we have in Seattle neighborhoods and site jails elsewhere.

Dorene K. Ronish | I want NO jail in the Highland Park neighborhood.
| 468 | Rachel Burke | This neighborhood has gone through vast improvements over just the last ten years that my parents have lived here. Now, I have purchased my mother's home and I cannot believe that after this neighborhood has been listed as the #3 best Seattle neighborhood to live in, the city would destroy that by putting a jail down the street from a grade school!
Why choose a residential neighborhood. There are plenty of areas, like the industrial neighborhood or the port that are not residential in nature that would be much better suited for such an institution. Do not punish your citizens merely for being 'poor' by comparison to other neighborhoods. This is a great city- let's keep it great by not creating pockets of crime, especially after we've only just begun to clean this pocket out! |
Patrick Allen | I think a spot a little closer to the industrial area would still be central and more appropriate for this type of use.

Anonymous | Our neighborhood has enough issues. Please don't tack on another one. Please give it to a more established neighborhood that would be able to absorb the impact better.
Mary H Anderson | Not appropriate for this neighborhood.

Bryan Rosino | This prison would ruin the wonderful revitalization the Highland Park and White Center areas have had over the last few years. As a concerned homeowner I am adamantly opposed to this.
