This will allow time for proper vetting of sites with full disclosure with the affected citizens of these residential areas. Also, the city needs to quit with the propaganda that these sites are located in South Park". Give me a break. How sophmoronic is that? And, further, the city needs to lose the spin that people who object to these four sites which are each within one mile of a school are obstructionists and don't care about the well-being or welfare of jail misdemeanants or jail staff. That is just simply inaccurate and having THe Casey FOundation as your public relations firm is slick, but not slick enough to make what the city is attempting to do ethically right.
Remember, karma is a bitch. |

| 20 | Brian Sales | The Highland Park neighborhood of West Seattle is already a lower income neighborhood which is overlooked for money and public services and with poor police response and an "anything goes" attitude by the Seattle police. Please do not make our neighborhood a dumping ground for a new jail. How about South Lake Union or Laurelhurst? It's no secret that many areas were not considered because it would not be popular in those areas and with residents of desirable neighborhoods. We are tax paying citizens and home owners and we have the SAME concerns. Please consider some other location. |
| 21 | Susan Hurst | The city cant afford to put a sidewalk in front of my house or maintain the public alley behind my house but they'll build a new jail in my hood? I think they should build it in Madison Park- those people are already used to gated communities. |

| 25 | Anonymous | This site needs to be located away from parks and schools. |

| 33 | Mike Shellenberger | There are many reason the two sight in WS should are unacceptable. I'll list 2. #1Environmental...Both sites will affect the Duwamish River or Hamm Creek. We have already had problems with the County/City on Hamm Creek problems that should be reviewed for impact and the Duwamish is involved in a massive clean-up to restore it to it's pristine past. The site picked needs extensive work and a jail construction and placement would dramatically impact the clean-up.
#2...Why were 2 of the sites picked in SE West Seattle. This area is involved in upgrading it's image. Placing jails in it will obviously affect progress. Let's see more data on the many other Sites in the City and give our area a little more fair evaluation. This seems very unfair to our area. Please address my concerns...in e-mail if possible.

| 34 | Roger Pinon | These sites should NOT be considered as they are too close to existing public parks, schools and too far from transportation!!! |

| 36 | Monica Cavagnaro | This JAIL needs to be in an area that does not impact then homeowners as much as this would.
Until society figures out how to prevent these inmates from commiting these crimes and the developers and people who profit from building and running jails figure out another way to make money our world is filled with these unfortunate situations.
So, as a neighbor I see this as a negative impact on the low income home owners of Highland Pk.
