Name: Anonymous on Oct 2, 2006Comments you'd like to add: This project is to large and dense for the shore drive area. It will be an extreme traffic burden on Marlin Bay Drive and shore drive. The polution generated by the doubling of Ocean Park population will have negative effects on the water quality of the fragile Lynnhaven River Basin.Flag

Name: Anonymous on Oct 2, 2006Comments you'd like to add: Please protect the sand flats from even more developers. How many condos can we fit on one road Shore Drive is dangerous because we stack hundreds of people on top of each other in over-priced condos, townhomes, etc and the result is an increase in traffic, polltuion, and a decrease in the quality of life of residents. Turn the sand flats into a public park or, better yet, leave it alone.Flag

Name: Anonymous on Oct 2, 2006Comments you'd like to add: The addition of this high density housing should not be considered as financial solution to VA Beach's traffic problem. On the contrary, it will only add to the problem. As a runner and cyclist, the roads will become increasingly dangerous and make one of the fittest city in the country one of the fattest city by stiffiling quality of life activities such as biking and running. Overdevelopment along Shore Drive has already overtaxed the infrastructure, adding another resource draining development, with tempting tax incentives for the city, will not solve the problem. VA Beach needs to preserve the reasons for living in VA Beach or risk losing it all to short-sighted developments.Flag

Name: Anonymous on Oct 2, 2006Comments you'd like to add: When the mayor and city counsil will eat Oysters taken from Lynnhaven bay, then perhaps we can talk about increasing the population density on the Lynnhave watershed ! This development on the Lynnhaven watershed will certainly increase the coliform loading, in direct conflict with the requirements of the WQMIRA and the CWA !Flag

In addition, we oppose the development's impact on the public's continued access to and enjoyment of Pleasure House Creek and the beach at Pleasure House Point. Name: Anonymous on Oct 2, 2006Comments you'd like to add: I am a longtime Virginia Beach resident (34 years) and am disgusted that the city continues to let open space disappear to greedy developers. I have also cleaned the shoreline of this land parcel annually for the last 12 years during Clean the Bay Day. It is a irreplaceable habitat for numerous land and esturine creatures and should not be developed!Flag

Name: Anonymous on Oct 2, 2006Comments you'd like to add: The Shore Drive corridor is already at capacity and an additional 1100 housing units would further strain an already burdened lack of infrastructure and increase the likliehood of more traffic accidents in the vicinity. SAY NO TO INDIGO DUNES!Flag

Name: Anonymous on Oct 2, 2006Comments you'd like to add: Hopefully, the city will for once think about the environmental impact of their development decisions and decide that building in this area would be detrimantal to the ecosystem. It would clearly go against all the oyster replenishment activities currently in process and only add more sediment and pollutants to the inlet waters.Flag

Name: Anonymous on Oct 2, 2006Comments you'd like to add: Shore Drive cannot handle the traffic that uses it now. Such a large increase in traffic on already taxed roadway is unconscionable. While a fully understand that the property will be developed, it must be a much smaller develoment.Flag

Name: Anonymous on Oct 2, 2006Comments you'd like to add: it's paramount that the wetlands be preserved and that density be kept to a minimum. although road improvements are needed, that is for the present, the status quo. until road conditions allow more development, there should be no development. let's not put the proverbial cart before the horse.Flag

Name: Anonymous on Oct 2, 2006Comments you'd like to add: This is a COMPLETE violation of the Chesapeake Bay Preservation Act ordinaces of 1988-1991 and they know it. It's why they have asked for hardship variances so that they can jam as many units into that area as possible, invading every single RPA buffer within the zone. If the city approves any of this, the precedent will set the terrible pace for the future complete destrcution of the SHore drive area. You dont add more density with a weak promise to fix/improve transit areas AFTER you have compunded the very problem that shuld have been adddressed 5 years ago. It's time to say ENOUGH is ENOUGH! DO what should have been done correclty NOW. VOte No more unrestricted density in this area!Flag
