Name: Suzanne Ream on Feb 5, 2010Comments: Creating a Health Care Monopoly in RI, "LIfespan," would be a disaster for workers, patients and residents. We need to learn from the merger outcome in MA which has only brought higher insurance premiums and fewer choices for workers and patients. LIfespan and Care New England will be able to be successful as separate entities without this marriage if the focus becomes caring for people and not $$$$.Flag

Name: Catherine Wheeler on Feb 21, 2010Comments: The last thing the economically struggling State of RI needs is this merger. This would create more unemployment as workers would be laid off due to duplication of services. I have a 23 yr old son who is working only part time and going to school because there are no full time jobs to be had in RI. People are fleeing to other states to get jobs and live more comfortable. Women and Infants is not struggling and I think we should remain our own entity. The employees here care and work together for the benefit of our patients, I do not hear such good things about Lifespan hospitals.Flag
