| 945 | Beth Thompson | Allowing the opening a Hooters in Sheffield would be akin to the Council making a statement that it openly accepts and supports the objectification and exploitation of women. There may be women who appear to be willing to work for and patronise such places but you must bear in mind that they are living in a society that leads them to believe that women's highest aspiration is to be attractive to men, and that welcoming their own objectification is another way of appearing to be 'one of the boys'. |
