Name: Patrick Kelly on May 7, 2009Comments: if Boarder patrol is to have guns, then every Mohawk should be issued 2. the only way to ensure a free nation is to arm all members. an unarmed nation is left to the whims of opresssion, therefore to ensure the right of a people that people must have the means to ensure their own freedom, freedom given by others is not freedom, only freedom earned is free. end the cycle. boarder patrol must not be armed.Flag

Name: Tammy Lynn David on May 7, 2009Comments: To allow the Border gaurds at the Cornwall Isladn Customs would be insein. We have got cases of them harassing our people for years; they have even beaten up pregnaunt woman. Seems to me these are the kind of people who would say stop "BANG" or i will shoot. I am glad that my people are fighting against this and i do support their objection no matter what feelings they have towards me personally. May the creator help with this and look after our needs as he has for me. Onen ke Wahe; the lost soul who does care, too much; but was misguided and misleadFlag

Name: Anonymous on May 7, 2009Comments: I work at a store on the issland and I think it would be very dangerous because there are so many small children around. If anything were to happen there would be lots of casulaties, because of the amount of families that go in and out of the store, and that live in the neighbouring houses. Not to mention of the traffic that goes in and out of the border daily.Flag

Name: Patricia Lazore on May 8, 2009Comments: I live on the Island and I see the AMPS parked at Customs 80-90% of the time! PLUS, Mohawk Security are there 24/7! Despite the past and current friction b/w Akwesasronon and the CBSA, it is not enough to warrant the arming of the CBSA officers, ESPECIALLY when they do most of the provoking! I have a 16 month old that travels with me every time I go through what about her safetyFlag

Name: Tina Louise Mitchell on May 9, 2009Comments: I really wish I couldve made it to the "NO GUNS" Rally today. I planned on it all week but late during the night my grandmother ended up having a minor stroke and the whole family ended up at the hospital late last night and early morning to find out test results. The rain was probably a big factor too. THEY SHOULD HAVE A "DO OVER" DAY!! I know my family would definately be there.......NO GUNS IN AKWESASNE!!Flag

Name: Dawna Arbour on May 11, 2009Comments: I believe guns only make more guns and the people of Akwesasne can defend their terriortory if they must against violence not with guns but with peaceful rallies and Knowledgeable solutions Violence only creates Violence and by having the border selected with guns is another act of Canada surrending to the American Government in their ways and conduct. Canada is a peaceful country Iaken but if we lower our standards and follow procedures that other countries have doesnt that make us a follower instead of a Leader. The custom agents have been under no attack from person or groups here in Cornwall Island with no threat to there lives so Why bring guns to a community trying to heal Violence and Corruption from the outside. Name: Regina Jacobs on May 13, 2009Comments: I understand that the Canadian Customs was on lock-down during the peaceful protest on Saturday, May 9, 2009 claiming that this is one of the reasons they need guns . . . they fear for their lives! Akwesasneoron are not violent people, we just want want what every other town, city or municipality has . . . peace of mind! Knowing that our residents will be safe - even if the Cusotms claim we are the enemy.Flag
