zoraida ordonez | I am not in favor for a fare hike. I would like to know what happen to the surplus of $$ --- when the fare went up and later the mayor found out that the MTA did have more than enough $$$.
Anonymous | Staten Islanders are already disproportionately taxed. The city takes in a lot more money from SI than it goves back. This is only one reason why the fare shouldn't be raised.

Come on the fare has risen in the las 2 years to $5.00 and the service has gotten soooo bad. If they continue to raise we will be walking on our hands and knees to get home. They dont stop at bus stops and many of the drivers have no considerastion for the passengers that they too work long hours and have to deal with the bulls--t of every day work beacuse we have to just like you . So next time the drivers decide to drive pass a stop. Just think that cloul be your mother, brother or sister standing there after a long day at work with a Bitch of a boss and only wants to get home and see their kids. |

Anonymous | OK Why is my express bus weekly pass going from $50 to $52 and change!??!!??! I thought express bus fares where NOT going up? Have Staten Islanders been dooped once again????? Why can't they raise the local buses/subways to $5.00 and we all pay the same!?!?? How about you make all the drivers exempt??!?!? This really sucks that I am paying more after we were promised it would stay the same. I SAY FUCK YOU TO THE OFFICIALS WHO OK'D THIS SHITTY DEAL!
James H. Bennett | NO INCREASE IN FARES!!!
John Mattina Jr | STOP THE FARE HIKES ON THE BRIDGES AND EXPRESS BUSES!
Anonymous | THIS INCREASE IS WRONG! THEY ARE MAKING IT VERY HARD TO SURVIVE IN NYC.
Elizabeth Delgado | No, he should not quit and yes run again in November. Everyone has problems and the only one that should judge him is God and God alone. No one on earth is perfect. JFK was not perfect and so many other people are not it can happens to anyone. The public should let him work out his private life with his wife by themself without the News being involved. He is doing his job and let him continue to do so .

Thomas Vendittelli | How about cutting some of the BUREAUCRACY instead of service? How about raising new options for Staten Islanders to travel to the city, instead of raising fares? How about a government that does more than just say "we feel your pain?"

Anonymous | Staten island has suffered enough; we dont have any reliable transportation to Manhattan as it is. we have no subway and not enough local buses. we pay enough in tolls and the express bus fare is already too high! we need more buses and lower fares.

mike | so.... not only did it go up - but it went up .50 not .25 ... a slap in everyones face :)! i dont care what expenses they have ... when 2million ride the REG bus every day alone.. not even counting the xpress bus revenue ... thats a minimum Income of - 4million EVERY DAY!!!!!!!!! anyone here make that in a friggn LIFETIME?? how about 3 lives combined?? EVERY DAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! did you hear that??????? DAILY!!!!!!!!! WAKE UP PEOPLE - THERE ONLY ONE WAY TO FIGHT IT.... AND THATS A BOYCOTT POWER IN NUMBERS ONLY.... A GOOD IDEA IS FOR EVERYONE TO PURCHASE 5DOLLAR METRO CARDS AND REFUSE TO PAY THE EXTRA 50 cents... EVERY RIDER WOULD NEED TO PARTICIPATE... BUT I THINK THE MTA IS WELL AWARE THAT NO ONE WOULD HAVE THE TIME, OR GUTS TO ORGANIZE.... another sad day for new yorkers.
