It is so bad now. It takes 1hour and 1/2 from downtown to get to staten island. They should have a hov lane coming come to S.I. Why should we pay a fare hike for. It is the worst service. |

A bus that is scheduled to come every 5 minutes in hte AM comes every 20, and then they are bunched up in groups of 3 or more.Come on this is sad that we are being held hostage. |

I know on my bus alone (X12) we wait 15-20 mins in the morning and evening, get on a packed bus - have to stand most of the time (which when you are 8 months pregnant like myself it is hard to do), a lot of the time there is no heat or air on the bus and then we sit in 2 hours of traffic... This is both ways..... I am tired of it.... For the past couple of weeks I have been taking the ferry and I have to say it is much better.... I think a lot more people are going to start doing this real soon because they can't deal anymore.... You have to do something... |

Extra funding went for hiring traffic agents?. The only agent I see is at Steuben and Narrows Road. Traffic is jamming up in the morning even more. We on the bus think its a joke. This morning, 10/29, it took me 1 hour from New Dorp to the toll plaza. Six millon for this? As I previously stated in blog.....deep pockets !!! As for getting home in the evening, through poorly planned construction scheduling....are there any funds left over for an agent? Don't think so, and don't want it. All I see is on the return trip is an EMPTY police car with flashing lights at the entrance. And the reason for this is??? |

The service NOW is horrible. Late buses. Rude drivers. Buses that pass by you because it is too full to let more people on....I take the 8x and there were times I would get out at 5:30pm and the bus will not show up until 6:30pm.....I really don't think they should increase the fair. |

However, the realstate agent forgot to inform me that part of that better life will have to be spent in an express bus to S.I. The commute in the morning is decent, the one coming home is making rethink my decision to have moved to S. I, is a source of stress every day and cause of delays to work and from work . As a city worker for 15 years, the MTA needs to give me and other commuters something better .Subtandard Express and regular Bus service topped by the plan fair hike is just unacceptable. Rethink your plan do not increase the fare if you cannot increase the quality of the service. |
