Deborah Maisano | I ride the 8X. Service is poor. The bridge work is hell. If we have to pay more money to travel, I will probably consider moving off the island. Also, there are not enough ferries. The train are broken down and dirty. It shouldn't be this hard to get back and forward to work. The morning ride isn't so bad but coming home is really bad.

Christine Sheehan | It is beyond my comprehension as to why we would even have to consider a fare hike when we endure a 2 +hour commute home every single night of the week. The bridge construction is effecting our quality of life. $5.25 or any other increase in insane!

Anonymous | It is ridiculous to expect us to pay higher fares. It takes us longer to get to work than in any other burrough and the construction makes it even worse. In addition to that, the air conditioning and heat rarely work nor do the bells. The service is unreliable. The majority of the week I wait 20-30 minutes during rushour before the x7 shows up while other busses pass 2-3 times over. We do not have the subway service other burroughs have and trains do not service the majority of staten island. Someone needs to realize that we are part of this city too.

Anonymous | I think it is not reasonable to raise the ride fee since the bus is NEVER on time. It never follows schedule, some times it never come in 20 mins and that people have to wait for a long time, sometimes there are many buses come at the same time.......it is NOT on time and consistent AT ALL. Some people have to stand on overcrowded buses. Based on the service of the bus, it doesn't make sense to raise the fee, it is ridiculous.

Anonymous | This hike is outrageous and unaffordable to us New Yorkers who are trying to survive in a city with dwindling high paying jobs and incredibly high taxes. Stop driving us out of NY.

Anonymous | I think it is an outrage that some one could even consider charging more for the miserable experience on sitting on the Gowanus for two hours at the end of a day of work for a ride that takes less than 20 minutes when there isnt traffic (construction). Cleary any one who would raise the fare has never commuted from SI to Manhattan and back. It is by far the worst part of my day, everyday.

Rosalie Lombardi | The express bus fare at $5.00 each way is already high. The service and buses are not adequate. How can you raise the fares, and have the service in poor condition?
Odette Messina | Not tomention the time it takes commuters to get home via express bus due to traffic, construction adn not having an HOV lane on the SI bound bus service. It is simply rediculous to sit in traffic due to construction, etc. and for the next two years or so. Something needs to be done NOW. I have switched to taking the fery and train for 1/2 the price and 1/2 the time.

Virginia Mondello | Give us a break!
Marianne Southard | I ride the X22 on the South Shore. The route coming home is completely unreliable and there are not enough buses going back to the island. Some days 2 or more buses get to the Times Square stope and they have NO SEATS! We also see numerous X17J, X30 and X31's pass us with virtually no people on it! Please help us!
