Fight the MTA Express Bus Fare Increase

The petition

We join Congressman Vito Fossella and the Amalgamated Transit Union (ATU) Local 726 in opposing the MTA's proposed increase in express bus fares. The MTA should not force commuters to pay more money for what many of us would consider inferior service compared with the rest of New York City. Many routes on Staten Island remain overburdened, some commuters are forced to stand on overcrowded buses and portions of our community are still underserved by mass transit. Simply, Staten Island commuters should not be expected to pay increasing amounts of money for a sub-par commute.
