Name: Laura Sauer on Mar 23, 2009Comments: Please do not impose park fees. It costs enough to live in Fairfax County as it is, especially with all of the proposed tax increases. Park fees will exclude parks for many people who cannot afford them. Park fees are an extreme disservice to the community.Flag

Name: Sheila Clark on Mar 23, 2009Comments: Having free parks is an essential, fundamental obligation of a county government. Why propose numerous bond amendments to raise funds for parks and then surcharge with an entrance fee It also places an undue burden on surrounding neighborhoods.Flag

Name: Bill Kline on Mar 23, 2009Comments: What an asinine proposal. Why would anyone have the gall to project how much money can be raised by charging (mostly FFX taxpayers) for admission to parks that have had free admission for twenty years " Build it and they will come", but charge for it, they will go elsewhere. Get off the spreadsheet and clear out the headsheet.Flag

Name: N Sanders on Apr 16, 2009Comments: Why should we pay to use the resources we support through taxes!! An entrance fee to use the water playground is ok, but not a fee for the park itself as some of us use the parks for walks and fitness. This will be an undue hardship on seniors and people with disabilities who are on fixed incomes. If they want to raise money - increase the fees for the kiddie play fields. They are what cost $$$$ and have limited use because they are off-limits to others.Flag

Name: Ellen Schweppe on Apr 16, 2009Comments: I am opposed to the Fairfax County proposal to charge fees to residents to enter county parks that we already pay for through our ever-escalating real estate taxes. In these challenging economic times, responsible citizens are cutting back on their expenses and making do with the resources they have. So should the county.Flag
