In February of this year, I came home from a trip to find that my electricity had been turned off.  I went to the office to pay it, and was told that they wouldnt turn it back on, because it was suddenly not up code.  Furthermore, the next day, a  day notice to get everything I want out of the house was posted on my door.  I had lived there for 5 years,and they wanted me to get things out in 48 hours!!!  I asked what wasnt up to code, and they said they wont tell me because Im not the owner.  I asked the owner, and she said she didnt have to tell me because it was none of my business.    WRONG!!!  I live there.  Im having to uproot everything in my life.  ITS MY BUSINESS!!! 

     When an electrical abatement is done in other towns in California, there has to be a hearing.  You have to have 2 weeks at least from notice to hearing, and then there is a 48 hour clause.  Not in Shasta Lake, Ca.  In Shasta Lake, after 48 hours, they use the police to remove you, and monitor your house so that you dont go back in.  However, the vandals found their way in, and I lost everything. 

And,Im not the only one.

    This is an ongoing problem in Shasta Lake, and it needs to be stopped. 

     By siging this petition, you are helping to get a law passed that says they cant throw anymore families out on the street without, atleast, ample notice.  No one should have to be afraid of their power company, and power companies should never have that kind of power.
