Name: Debbie Rinzler on Jun 27, 2003State: 01Comments: I feel the new sales tax law going in effect July 1, 2003 is setting me back in time by 30 years. No longer can I use point of sale on the computer to handle sales tax if different rates are to be charged to different people. Also I use my cash register to calculate the tax and I use the tape daily for bookkeeping purposes........This can no longer be done. I can only imagine how many calculated mistakes are going to be made by employees who cannot add properly by hand. We have counted on the business machines to do the work properly for us. Barely have enough time in the day to do the states' work (figuring sales taxFlag

THE LAST TWO INSTSUCTIONS CAUSE THE COUNTIES TO REFIGURE TAX IF RESIDENT LIVES IN A HIGHER TAX RATE COUNTY THAN PLACE OF PURCHASE,IF THATS GOING TO BE THE PRACTICE,WHY ARE WE MESSING WITH SALES TAX TO START PUT COLLECTION OF TAX WHERE IT BELONGS WITH THE STATE &COUNTY WHER IT BELONGS. Name: Jim Cohorst on Jul 11, 2003State: 01Comments: Actually, forcing dealers to collect sales tax for the state in unconstitutional under the EMANCIPATION PROCLAMATION where no one can be forced to work either for or without compensation. It takes a great deal of time and if there is an error or it should be late, there is a penalty. Doesn't seem right to me and I've been collecting this tax for the state of Kansas for 40 years.Flag
