Dexter McCloudBecause I have competed at that track before, I chose not particpate. It's embarassing that this track is part of the NATIONAL TRAINING CENTER! A 300-acre sports, health, fitness and education campus where apparently the track facility was put in as an after-thought....
Margot Sheehan
John SimpsonNTC is a training facility not a multi-spectator or multi-athlete venue at all what so ever!

Damon BlakemoreI fully support this petion for the reasons listed above. As a fist class organization, we should fully expect first class facilities.
James Chinn
chris grantPlease reconsider this venue for reasons mentioned
Ken StoneReopen the bidding at Reno.

Mark ClearyThis location is just 20 miles from Orlando the worst Nationals ever was hosted by Disney in 1999, the conditions were herendous and these facilities are far less then Disney had in 1999.I agree with the 10 reason's listed that this is a very poor site to host the 2009 Masters National Championships for T & F.
matt ingramplease consider an alternative site
AnonymousReasons 1-10 are all very valid.
Steve KempSince this is the "Nationals", the most important Masters competition in the United States next year, we deserve to be treated better than having to perform in the above type of conditions. It just does not make it enjoyable at all.

Barry GivensIt is absolutely unacceptable to have the nationals in a location that the athletes have no trust in. With the terrible weather and other condtions, it looks like the track is out in the middle of nowhere with the sun beating down on you and you have no chance. There looks to be like there are no restrooms anywhere and nowhere for spectators to support their athletes. This is going to cause numerous problems for the athletes as well for spectators. For one, how are athletes going to hydrate themselves and also the spectators. There looks to be like no facilities for refreshments for anyone, and the USATF wants nationals here. You've got to be kidding me. This location is a recipe for disaster as someone could go down w/ heat stroke and we won't get the proper treatment necessary and someone's head will roll. It would be great if the USATF gets their act together and listens to the athletes for once and to have nationals in locations where the summer heat isn't as dreadful and the facilities are acceptable. If the location can't be moved, please count me out of going to Orlando and I'll prepare myself for WMA 2009 in Lahti, Finland.

Joshua DavisI went to my first Outdoor National Meet this year in Spokane and had a great experience. I would like the same next year and am afraid if it's in Clermont, it will be be a miserable one instead. That is, if I even go. Please change the location as it's in the best interests of the athletes.
Lisa HamptonI won 5 medals in Orono, including 2 golds-national champion in throws. i will not attend if the event is in the muggy, buggy, disgusting Florida swamps. Masters should not have to put up with these conditions. My ex-inlaws live in Cocoa Beach and that is barely tolerable in July. Go back to Orono or Spokane!!! THANKS.
Jeff BrowerFacility doesn't meet the minimum requirements for such a meet. Find another location.
Shemayne williamsAnd walking up and down that hill to get to the track is no picnic. Could be very taxing on the athletes when preparing to compete.
Rick Easley
Steve CummingsI’ve already made the decision not to attend the nationals next year for the following three reasons: LOCATION, LOCATION, LOCATION. The worst track meet I have ever attended in my 38 years of track and field competition was the 1999 nationals in Orlando near Clermont. I promised myself I would never return to that God-forsaken toilet for anything, least of all a track meet. Best of luck to those of you who elect to endure the sheer hellishness of central Florida in July…
Bill CollinsI trust the opinions of the athletes that competed there, and feel we should look for another location more suitable for the athletes.
Wayne BennettI was at Orlando in 1999 and won't go back to Florida or the southeast for any meet in July or August.

AnonymousSorry its such a miserable place. Coz.
Harold E. Lacey IIMasters Track and Field is not a seocnd rate program. We train hard each year to prove that we are an elite organization of runners. Please treat us as such and provide us with the venues that will support us fully and confortably.
Douglas Spencer
Marcus ShuteI concur with the reasons listed.
Randy Wilson
Don DrummondWe should consider the 2nd option-Mt. Sac California or atleast a College Campus with adaquate seating etc...
Thomas FaheyThis site is unacceptable
Dave ClinganI agree that we should find a more suitable facility.
SHERWIN STERLING

AnonymousI was thinking of competing next year not is it is held in Clermont Florida.
Bradley GardnerPlease consider Spokane again for 2009. It was fantastic. I have been to the National Masters Meet the last 5 years - I WILL NOT go to Clermont Florida under any circumstances in 2009 for the meet.

Randy Thompsongo to the west coast. Health issues and poor facility. This is suppose to be a nationals. This is a disgrace!!!!
Linda CartyHey, easy on the "swamp" comments. This "Florida swamp" is now my home. Those bugs are my pets. lol This was not a good location for a major track meet. Perhaps we can offer the selection committee some assistance by checking into other locations and presenting them with more options.
